MBB vs Big 4 Discussions

Hi guys, I got a feeling that big 4 or T2 companies kinda quiet in jakarta as opposed to MBB where they conduct lots of recruiting events (management consulting). Any reason for that particularly or maybe big 4 prefer internal hiring only?

What does the recruitment process look like for PhD candidates for the Big 4 and tier 2 firms? I know MBB recruits PhDs, but am unclear about the rest.

which is the higher priority, technical or business acumen - if my goal is to develop into a high-ranking Big 4 or MBB leader?

I’m in my 2nd year in audit. I want to pivot into management consulting within a big 4 or MBB. Has anyone seen someone make this lateral movement? I’m not sure how feasible that is and what steps to take. I’m also down to discuss further with whoever is comfortable in connecting.

We've all been there (not just me I hope). It's so frustrating when the consulting one is a tough hill to climb. Has joining a smaller management consulting firm ever worked out for anyone?

I'd like to hope one day I could get into big 4 or even MBB.

Discussion post: I feel almost all consulting firms are the same. Mbb, big 4 etc. if you are paid enough there is probably less wlb. If there is good wlb there is not much money. Can you single out a company that you can confidently say pays very well and also has good wlb and also has good opportunities etc.?

Any tips/warnings/advice on potentially trying to move from Big 4 to either MBB or a T2 boutique firm? I’m anticipating reaching M1 in Big 4 within the next 12 months. I really like my current practice, but frankly as I eye comp across the bowl, I’m hungry for more elsewhere, even with the recent Big 4 bumps. want to interview at MBB again. Last year i had started the process but had to stop the process due to severe family emergency. What followed was depression and im doing fairly better now. I am Leaving Big 4 to join a tech focused Bank. But i feel like I should reach out to recruiter and start the process again. Just not sure if it’s the right move since im joining a new company. Feel it’ll look bad trying to join MBB after starting at a new bank. What to do?

Alright, fishies, let’s try this again. Name drop boutique firms that have offices in San Francisco Bay Area. Big 4 is not my future (as many many MANY of you have repeatedly said I’m not good enough for). So, I’m taking the hint and crossing MBB and Big 4 off my list but still hoping a smaller firm will consider me.

Director interview after super day?

Had a super day last week and I thought it went well, partner sent back a nice message to my thank you note. Trying not to read too into it, but is it normal to have an interview with another director after having already interviewed with a director (and a MD)?

I did mention I have interest in a specific area with a director last week and it looks like this next director I’m interviewing primarily works in that area.

I’m overworked and underpaid, but gaining valuable experience I hope to pivot toward an eventual in-house counsel position. I recently was offered an opportunity to lateral to a national firm for a significant pay increase (150% salary increase, much better benefits, hybrid WFH options). Problem-I would be shifting gears to Toxic Tort. I’m torn between my passion and the money. I’m a second year associate. WWYD?
