Is the best office chair the Herman Miller Aeron?

Hello 🐟, so what’s the final verdict on a good sit/stand desk and an ergonomic chair? Started developing a backache and think I need to change my WFH setup. Thanks in advance.

How do you deal with back pain? I tried all things that could potentially help like getting lumbar support, ergonomic pillow, stretching steadily throughout the day etc. I'm seriously concerned if it will be what blocks me from moving forward in my career. Typical hours ranging 60 to 70 and i know my back will only keep getting worse during WFH and it's out of control. TIA.

How quiet is your home office environment? I am in a corporate practice and need quietness to read documents. I live in a courtyard facing apartment. Some people don’t mind noise but I constantly hear street noise, noise in the hallways and there are college students that live in the building. I complain about the noise all the time but my wife thinks I’m being unreasonable.

If my home office is NYC but I live in Michigan while working on a remote project how will I be taxed? My understanding is that “productive” time worked will be taxed by Michigan and “unproductive” time like PTO and bonuses will be taxed by both NYC and Michigan. Is this right and will I make more living in MI or NYC? (Ignoring cost of living)

My bank makes you fill out a form if you want to work in the office for each individual day. It’s largely empty from what I hear. What are the risks if I were to go in and “borrow” an office chair for my new apt? How about a monitor?

Interview tomorrow for a tax associate opening at RSM. Been working in a mid-size city (different firm) that is about 70 minutes from this new home office in a larger metro. How flexible is WFH or dual model going forward post Covid? Am interested in this position and going to tax, but not be able to relocate for family reasons. Don’t want to drive 700 miles per week M-F. What will dual model be like going forward? 1-2 times week, 4-5 month? Seems like tax was more flexible than audit pre-Covid

What monitors would you recommend for home office? I am about to buy one myself. I work in FDD. Do you guys recommend the ultra wide? Curve screen? freesync?And what definition is good enough ? I really do love Apple Retina display but the price.

I’ve decided that if given the choice a hybrid situation is the best way forward for me. I’m thinking three days a week in my home office and two days a week on the couch in the den.

Any recommendations for a budget standing desk frame? Already have a nice table top I would like to use, but don’t want to break the bank on a frame to attach it to. Would like to stay under 250 but would go up to 300. Thanks in advance! Only wish is that it doesn’t wobble and is somewhat sturdy.

Hey fishes, I’ll be joining the risk assurance practice as an Associate 2 at PwC Kolkata. Just had some questions in my mind, please do answer!
1. What laptop can I expect (old/new, model)? What else is generally included in the starter pack?
2. I’ve heard PwC uses G-suite in place of MS office and its already giving me the chills. Is this true?
3. Can new joiners expect the $250/₹18k for the home office setup.
4. Coming from an India firm. What are the major changes that I can expect (wlb/pto)

Have $300 to spend from my firm on home office accessories! Honestly at a loss to figure out what to get... Already have great chair/standing desk, keyboard, mouse, headphones, monitor. What can you all not work without?

Had an employee request a standing desk due to back problems. went through the ADA process & the employee obtained a doctor's note to support their request. However, the note was questionable. it was from an acupuncturist, on a word doc, no real signature and just said that a standing desk would prevent pain & improve their productivity, nothing about him not being able to work without it. Thoughts? Also, what do you think about having certifications from non-traditional doctors?

Fellow standing desk owners: how many hours a day do you actually stand at your desk?
