How does your team use Slack to engage clients?

Anyone has a psychic/reader they swear by? Is it in person, through zoom or phone call? Referrals please!!

I took a job where I start remote and relocate later. Now I’ve started, most of the people I work with wouldn’t even be in the same office as me so I’d be relocating to a new city just to sit at home on zoom calls 90% of the time.
I’m just wondering if there is a way to bring up a convo with leadership to adjust previous plans. I’m thinking of maybe asking if I could just spend part time in the new city and stay maybe 1-2 weeks a month here or something. Would love thoughts

I lead a small team (~8 people) that is geographically dispersed. We are looking to do a fun virtual team event, as there is no budget for travel. Any ideas on what we can do that is not a Zoom team lunch?

I’ve been in my new role for 7months and have done everything but my actual job. They had me help on programmatic then moved me to social to help there and now one of the 2 managers we have quit. So I’m picking up more slack. Can I ask for a raise or does that look like I’m taking advantage that one of the managers quit?

Anybody work on a small team where you are the only diverse member? I have always worked in places where by chance the group was diverse. I just started this job and didn’t think this would bother me because everyone seemed nice. But frankly don’t understand the jokes or the stuff they want to talk about. Feeling kind of out of place and finding myself just smiling and nodding a lot in these zoom meets.

Does anyone work at Faire or ever interviewed there? I have made it past the initial phone screening and the take home assignment, and I have been invited for a 2-hour long Zoom interview with 4 different people on the team. I'm wondering what I should expect and how to prepare?

My camera just broke on my laptop and I have a phone screen today via Zoom - is it okay to not have my camera on and just explain the situation?

When are you overstepping in a work environment and when are you not? What about micromanaging? How do you tell the difference?

For example, a calendar invite was created by a Product Owner but I saw that one of our designers that should be included is missing from the invite, so I tagged her on slack to see if she needs the invite forwarded or not and wanted to make sure she's included.

We're both Design Leads, no reports. I just joined 2mths ago.

Did I micromanage? Or overstep?

My boyfriend broke up with me yesterday in between WebEx meetings. Topline summary: originally wanted kids, marriage, but now doesn't. Trying to focus at work but it's kinda hard. Also have to figure out how or if I move myself and my dogs out. To top it all off, billables are down.

Was interviewed by a startup for an EA role. I made it to round 3 where i was supposed to meet the CEO face to face in person after meeting the COO on zoom and then another zoom with the COO&CEO. I was told I'd hear from them in a day to let me know when, the day turned into a week then 2. I've emailed twice since then and no response at all. So frustrating.

My AirPods are a pain to connect to the Thinkpad, especially on Zoom. Colleagues have similar complaints.

Any suggestions on wireless headphones/earbuds that work well with the laptop?

Advice needed: I have a Zoom meeting tomorrow to receive an offer for job A that I’ve been interviewing for. I should also be hearing back about an offer for job B (my dream job) around Friday or Tuesday. What’s the best way to respond on video to job A to buy myself time? Just a “thanks so much, let me review this and get back to you”? I’d accept job A if I don’t get an offer from job B so I don’t want to come off as uninterested or flaky.

Is that ok if i wear t-shirt for my zoom MBB interview?

I'm 8 years into my career in the same industry. Years ago I was the person who knew ever answer and was considered very sharp/the company "swiss army knife". Ever since 2020, I feel like I lost part of my brain. I am not longer sharp, I have a hard time grasping new info and I have panic attacks before every zoom call. Is anyone else dealing with this? I don't know if it's because I work from home now or what but i'm paranoid that I will never climb out of this fog. :( Suggestions welcome!

Confession time: what are some things you have occasionally done to stay online with Microsoft Teams when you are actually away?

Mac or HP or Dell: I prefer Mac notebooks. However it seems there might be limitations with the use of Skype or other applications based on materials I have seen. What do you all recommend is the best laptop for working at Deloitte?

I requested Friday afternoon off using my PTO, no meetings the entire afternoon but manager doesn’t approve it. He instead checks me on slack every hour to make sure I’m online till 5pm. Is this an HR issue?

I applied for an Associate Program Manager for Slack's social impact team. I was not interviewed for this role, but the recruiter asked to set up a 15 minute chat to find out more about my interest in Slack/Salesforce.

Does anyone have any experience preparing for a conversation like this? I am not sure where to start.
