My annual perf discussion is monday morning. I work on a tough team for a tough place. I think Im a pretty good/almost high performer but only around 3 years and my boss seems to still act like I’m brand new (lifer boomer). I try to tell myself he has 6 direct reports and has to do this with everyone, Im no more or no less special - but I hate these convos and negative feedback even when most of it is unsurprising/fair feedback. Any tips? Just need to get through it! HR people are not immune!

Is it standard to not pay non-exempt employees holiday pay until they pass probation?

How do I leave my role as someone on the talent team. I am on a small recruitment team of only a few people, who connect daily. I am also responsible for sending out updates tracking new hires and upcoming leavers (aka I would be on this list if i decide to leave). If I am looking to leave my company, considering all of these things, how do I do it in the least awkward, most professional way possible? I want to put in at least a two week notice, but will continuing my work after that be weird?

Any suggestions for resume writing/updating services? I think I’m not getting call backs because my resume is too busy and unfocused

Started at a big firm in July with high hopes- in the career path I wanted and I would be joining with other new grads.
After onboarding, it’s as if my team forgets about us every day. The training is non existent, there doesn’t seem to be any initiative to invest in new hires, my manager scolds me for not knowing enough yet gives no direction. I don’t want to waste time (colleagues mentioned it doesn’t get much better from here). Do I embrace the suck or look for other opportunities?

Wondering if anyone can share the approximate timeline after applying to Target Corp. to hearing something from them. Applied 9/1 and on the applicant portal the status still says “in progress.” I got a great internal referral, but I’ve not reached out to the hiring manager. 😬 I know there were a few hundred applicants — what’s a realistic timeline and what could I say to the hiring manager if I reach out to them. Does your company offer Volunteer Hours? If so, how many per year?

I have been in consulting for nearly 5 years and feel like I haven’t gained many technical skills or helped the clients much. Thinking about going to industry to sharpen my skills. Anyone has had a similar experience? (I am in Federal btw).

What’s the worst work space you have had at client site? For me - 3 people in a 4ft x 8ft closet off of a break room with no windows.

So, after a year of not so quietly making it known that I wanted to make the transition from the tech side to the business side I have officially been extended an offer to take on a Project Manager internally (coming from a software configurer). The client I have been assigned to has many of our products, however, the specific project I have been assigned to is a problem child and has damaged the companies relationship with the client. Any advice for a new, young PM being shoved into a problem?

What is the timelines for appaisals and promotions in Accenture? I joined 10 months back and have 3 yrs of working experience. I am one of the best performers and have received recognitions too. How much raise should i expect? (I don't want to look too ambitious but also don't want to undervalue)

Has anyone ever asked to renegotiate their salary after starting a job? I’m 2 months into my new job and I have far more responsibilities than what I was told. It’s a lot different than what was relayed in the posting and during the interviews. Additionally, they hired my counter part in as a senior manager which is at least $30k more than what I make. My peer has more experience so I expect that but I feel that I should be paid more, however I don’t want to leave a bad impression… any advice?

I don't know if this is a recent change but I’m seeing postings for junior copywriter/community manager roles. Have these roles always been attached or posted at a junior level? Is this merged role worth considering as someone young in the industry with more traditional intern and freelance copy experience.

Does adhd cause you to struggle with job performance or satisfaction? I’ve been having a hard time focusing on tasks for long periods of time and have lost interest in my job. It’s discouraging because I’m just a junior and worried that it means I’m not suited to be a cw.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to control oily hair? I have thin hair, and started using fable and mane pre hair oil and mask..which kind of helps but seems like the oil just builds up quickly.
