Wanted to hear from others if not a lot of new projects are being signed lately because of the economy or if its just at my firm. I’ve been on the bench for a month now and I was roughly 100% chargeable up til now.

Has anyone made the jump from one HR specialty to another? I’m trying to figure out if I’m better off trying to get experience in the new specialty internally, or if I just find a new role elsewhere. Thanks!

I am looking to make a career change to HR. I currently make 75K as a sales and development coach. I had a recent offer for a state government position in a talent acquisition role but I’d be taking a $25K pay cut. I am extremely over qualified for the position but it could possibly be a stepping stone and gives me the time to acquire SHRM certifications and possibly start taking classes to get my MBA. My question is those currently in an HR role, would this move make sense to you?

I have a 20+ year career doing AdTech/BI/Analytics in media agencies. Started as an intern, rose up to director and board member at various agencies.

I switched to tech consulting at SM level early this year for the money but also to see new industries & learn something new. Had to quit the small firm I joined after only 5 months due to chaotic and overbearing leadership. Now I have an offer from Avanade and one from a big media agency on the table.

Should I go back or stay in consulting?

I started in my first SDR position in a small SaaS start up few months ago. I am the only SDR and their first ever.
The base salary is ok but I haven’t received any commission structure up to this day.
I book an average of 3-5 demos per week. People always show up, but the thing that worries me is that I do not have a way to track how many meetings I book in our CRM,and to be honest I feel like I didn’t get the best training overall. Should I start looking somewhere else? Thoughts?

If I move to the Bay Area from Austin, are there any major negatives that will be really hard for me?

SPHR exam- has anyone ever been “randomly selected” for an application audit? This just happened to me and the sheer amount of effort that is going to go into collecting all the documents almost makes me not want to follow through. Since I didn’t finish undergrad, they’re asking for a copy of my high school diploma or transcript and that itself is going to be an absolute nightmare to get hold of. Guess I’m not really looking for a solution here, just venting.

With employee well-being being front and center lately, has anyone asked their benefit providers to create something candidate facing? Or are you just sharing the exact same benefit material you show your employees?

In this field, when choosing a masters degree program is it more beneficial to get a degree in Human Resources to further my knowledge in HR (my undergraduate degree is in Economics) , an MBA, or Data Science Degree due to the fact that HR is becoming more data driven as well as get a PHR / SHRM-CP certification?

Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Guys, I interviewed at amex gurgaon 10days ago and was told by VP that I will hear from HR very soon. But when I checked on HR yesterday, she said interviews are still in progress and it will take a week more to finalize.
I want to know do they take this long to close a position? This opening was posted on 30th Sep.. It's already been 1.5 months. This is when they said the position was urgent!! 🙄

Question: Girl friends parents finally came over for a ristha. Everything went great or so I thought but now she wants to time to think about moving forward. The pain point she brought up is that we are in different states and she is feeling pressed. When a role says “Remote, LOCATION” on the job description, must you live in that LOCATION and work remotely or does it mean that your home office will be that LOCATION?

Got news that my house closing may have to be moved due to a delay in the sale of my home. My partner’s income was excluded in the DI ratio, but if it were included we’d be well under the % threshold and can be approved to close on time regardless of the sale of my house. However our mortgage company’s underwriting team has been painfully slow in confirming if her income qualifies. She’s been at her new job 1 month after a year off. Anyone with underwriting experience have insight?
