CSR is better for day to day spending and actual value. Amex is a better flex and gets you more luxury and perks when you travel.
I’d say the Amex plus a cheap points card for day to day stuff is the way to go, esp with the current Amex opening offers.
I have Amex plat + CFU. I mainly use my Corp card for company travel and food too (we get to book hotels tho). But your personal Amex is what will get you upgrades at hotels and the lounges. Plus delta status is better for upgrades and Amex is a delta card.
If you want to maximize cash back, go with CSR but I think Amex + CFU is a better overall combo for what you’re getting.
Also the 150k Amex offer is like more than double the value of the CSR 60k.
Amex platinum for the perks (ie lounge, digital credit, Walmart plus, 200 airline credit, 200 Uber credit, etc) and airfare purchases. I also have a Marriott card for all else (because it’s 2x for all purchase, 3x for groceries, restaurant, and gas, 5x for hotel)….chase sapphire preferred also works great
Amex - lmk if you need a referral for extra sign-up points

Amex gold instead - dm me for referral!

I have 90k bonus points if you open a new card with my referral link. I don’t think they have ever offered more than 90k for gold as of date FYI
Chase
CSR is more value for money!!
Chief
How? It hasn’t been updated in years
The answer is always Amex. Chase doesnt have half as many overall benefits and access and protections as platinum. Chase just has some travel credit to offset annual fee but Amex plat benefits add up to lot more. Plus amex plat customer service is superior, within 2 mins i was talking to a human who quickly helped me out within 5 mins.

Funny I’m leaving Amex because platinum customer service has disappointed me. Their automated assistant is crap and it’s too hard to get to a person.

Is Amex platinum worth the fee in year 2 if I am not traveling much?
The airline credit is on extra expenses that I wouldn’t otherwise spend on and the hotel credit isn’t very flexible. The only thing that’s a direct reimbursement on stuff I’d otherwise actually spend on is the Uber credit.
Dm for referral. Have both. Math works
Why do you have both?
Amex plat is king right now. You won’t get the best offer through referrals
I’m Delta Million Miler and I have both - use the Delta Reserve AmEx for the MQMs to keep status posted COVID and the CSR for non AmEx purchases. I’m probably a little overpaying on fees but between SkyClub, Priority Pass, travel credit, upgrades I feel like I get my money’s worth.
CSR long term, but AMEX Platinum may be good short term as it’s got better bonuses right now. You could always get a platinum and downgrade later, then get CSR when they have a better offer.
I have platinum and gold
Is gold better than CSR? The fee ends up being the same when you factor in the travel credit on the CSR
Real Q is CSP vs. CFU
