Sharing my experience with Deloitte USI interview and offer negotiation. I gave Deloitte interview 2 months ago. After managerial round I did multiple follow ups and Deloitte didn’t bother to reply. I moved on and got another offer. After 1 month Deloitte came back and asked for documents and didn’t show up for another 1 month. Today HR called and asked my expectations. I answered few and quite I was not sure of answers. She gave feedback like my communication and confidence level is good and project wise I'm having good knowledge and coming to concept wise it's not upto the mark for experience. Any good book recommendations for new Managers in consulting ?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

Beside toastmasters, what are other ways to improve communication and public speaking skills? Books, podcasts...?
