I’ve come to find that it’s the “culture” in my group that the partners will not provide direct criticism but instead tell the only mid-level associate the problems (after months of noticing them) and then she calls me (first year) and will tell me (“Partner X and Partner Y and I have noticed this over the past few months”). Supervisory advice on helping a junior?
