I want to retire but I'm in my early 40's. My husband thinks I'm selfish because most of our luxury spending money comes from me. I'm burnt-out in this business and don't want to work anymore. I don't mind not going on luxurious vacations anymore and cutting back on our expenses. I keep seeing my loved ones die at fairly young ages. I want to enjoy what is left of my life. I'm perfectly fine with scalling back. What do you think? Am I being selfish for wanting to be a housewife?

I felt like a walking zombie during thanksgiving, barely eating and barely talking. My family is small and I told them ahead of time my relationship ended. I focused on my niece and nephews, cried when I wanted to and slept from 8pm-noon for the last 5 days. Showered once or twice. That’s the best I could do and that’s OK right now. I give massive kudos to all the parents out there juggling work and home life. But it’s starting to feel like I pulled the short stick by not having a kid. Really struggling to pick up all of the slack from all of the colleagues that do have kids and feel like the expectation is that parents should turn off while the rest are working from 7am - 2am everyday to make up for it.
