Don’t bug her, I’m sure she’s already stressed trying to figure out the logistics of it all. It’s so annoying when people bug you while planning your wedding. Coming from a previous bride. She will let you know.
I think a small nudge is appropriate for destinations. I would frame it like you need to get your PTO requests and travel in order for 2025 and wanted to make sure you were allocating days for the wedding if it’s in 2025. But agree with above, may also be better coming from your husband.
It’s totally appropriate to ask. My brother has settled on a destination wedding (still within US) and the costs are really expensive. I didn’t plan for the cost when we committed to being in the wedding and we are feeling the stress of the monetary expectations. I wish he and his finance had been more up front and that’s partially on me for not asking.
I guess it depends on how close you are with her.
That is your spouse's job. Either to ask directly or communicate with MOB. It is interesting family of the groom takes precedent for location, but that's a separate issue. She may always have wanted a destination wedding.
Any idea if they have set the date? Some people have incredibly long engagements. And contrary to other comments, nothing wrong wirh asking about plans. That is different than "bugging" them. Gettng married out of country unless her fiance is still a citizen and having it recognized here is not as easy as 1,2,3.
And unless all of her side has passports, that's another layer.
Then just start to save knowing you have this coming up …
