On a Thursday, what time should I leave DTLA to get to LAX by 6:30? Not sure if the traffic is back to prepandemic level

If you could earn top status at any of the big 3 out of LAX which would you pick and why?

Just curious, do you guys ever feel weird wearing designer items to the office? Such as expensive loafers and belts? My company is already pretty lax about the dress code.

Any advice for timing an exit around the holidays?

I got a verbal offer yesterday, anticipate a written one day, hoping to negotiate and have a finalized offer/start date by first week of December.

Then this is where I need some advice, it seems crazy to put in my two weeks so close to Christmas/New Years when things will be lax at both orgs. Timing around year end bonus is also a factor, would love to get it and then exit

Arriving at 11pm and staying near koreatown. Is it worth it? Looks like it’s a 50-55 min drive vs 30 min drive but not sure how much longer it’ll take to get out of LAX vs ONT. if LAX I’d probably ask a friend to pick me up, if ONT then I’d Uber

Current firm at SC level - 105k base, typically 10% bonus. Great WLB at the moment as I'm staffed on a very lax project that will run through 2022. Enjoy working with my team, no complaints.

Another firm I'm entertaining for an SC role - 5k sign on, 130k base. They're ramping up their practice so are looking for people with my specific skillset. Have heard good things about their culture but I take word of mouth with a grain of salt.

Did a round of brand side interviews with a senior level team and want to write a thank you note that doesn’t come across too thirsty. What would a senior person appreciate in a note if they got one?

They have all been there 10 plus years. Just thank for their times and reiterate what value I can bring to the role?

Do you pay your credit cards in full every month?

I ask because I’ve let my credit spending get a bit lax since moving and adopting a puppy recently, so I haven’t been paying them off in full every month like I used to (though still well above the minimum payment, and keeping utilization at 30% or under). It got me thinking about how many people adhere to this advice.

Joined an UMM fund a few months back and things have been pretty lax and we haven’t pursued a new platform yet. Im probably overthinking this but traveling to Hawaii from LAX and want to make sure because it’s been surprisingly hard to find a concrete answer online. I know that proof of vaccination is sufficient to avoid testing/quarantine going there. But what about coming back? Will I need to do any testing/quarantine or is proof of vaccination enough? I recognize that I’ve performed very well and garnered the recognition of many teammates while being able to maintain a fairly regular 8:30/9—4:30/5 schedule, but rather than be grateful for such an opportunity I can’t help but feel as though (1) I’ve been extremely lucky; and (2) I definitely should not feel like I’ll be able to continue experiencing such a (relatively speaking) lax setup.

Serious question here: Does anyone actually really enjoy consulting? I just moved to Big Tech and I can’t believe I stayed that long in consulting. Better WLB, waaaaaaaaaaayy better pay, challenging work environment, some company proves to have just as good of career growth opportunity, smart yet lax colleague. What is it? The prestige? Last Sunday, my wife was flying United from JFK to LAX and her flight was delayed over 9 hours. I’ve never even heard of a delay this long.
