Benefits, WLB, and culture to consider?

I work at EYP and may have an offer to leave to join Strategy&. Should I pursue this and why or why not? Does S& have better pay? What about career progression, culture, WFH, travel, other benefits, etc?

Been at KPMG for a year now and I don’t see KPMG’s contributions in my 401k? I know they contributed once a year but I don’t see that in my statement

I will be finishing up my PhD (chemistry) in 12-15 months. Which firms hire PhDs? Ik because of my background people will suggest life sciences and healthcare practices but I really want to be generalist in the begging and get bit of a exposure. I will take a shot at MBB but not expecting much or hopeful there. TIA!

31 YO, 8YoE Industry …I’m in the interview process at all Big4s currently but I’m getting hiring freezes and consistent ghosting. I can’t even apply to new roles at Big4 because I’m already in the process at all of them. Maybe if I had an MBA I’d be more competitive?

I was laid off last week and have yet to sign my departure agreement. I was at the firm 8 years, no PIP, hitting numbers. Offered 16 weeks pay and benefits through end of month. Two questions:
1. Should I have an attorney review the agreement before signing?
2. Should I negotiate for better severance? (I’ve heard negotiation can give them the right to withdraw severance altogether.)

What is the rule of thumb for how much you should have in your 401k account by age? For context I am 24 with $30k in there and $6k in HSA currently (TC = $120k at the moment). How much should I aim to get in there by 30 for example?

Healthcare / Insurance fish - I need help. My insurance only covers the generic form of my prescription drug. The generic is out and there is a nationwide shortage of the generic. Is there anything I can do to get my insurer to cover the brand name drug? Express Scripts is my Rx insurer

How old were you when you first were able to max out your 401k? Got my first job at 22. Got laid off at 24 (thanks Covid). Entering back into the workforce now at 26 (b-school in between) but not at a salary where I can max out 401k and I only have about $8k in right now ☹️ Am I screwed?

Any suggestions on ROTH 401K vs regular 401K. Firm matches upto 50% contribution up to 6% of salary contributed. I earn 150 and able to contribute 10% of salary. Married and mid 30s (late career start) and currently sole earber due to personal circumstances.

Should I distribute evenly it just for full regular 401K especially since latter helps me lower my taxable income.

Can't do ira because CBA ensuring independence everytime.
