Debating about two job offers...
Job 1: 63k
Job 2: 61k + 3k sign on bonus + 1200 for cpa exam costs! (Both offer the bonus)
I was much more ‘attracted’ to job 2 during my interviewing, the benefits are not great (typical public accounting) but regardless I’m not sure the benefits should matter that much. Would it be dumb to take job 2? I was doing a salary analysis with an assumed 6% annually and after 2 years I’ll be even with the additional 4200. But I’m sure with promotion I can renegotiate!

Does anyone here learn best through repetitious exercises? I always used repetition and practice to solidify knowledge in college and while studying for the CPA exam, but I can’t find a way to make that work since I’ve started working full time. As a result, my technical knowledge is not up to par. I think it’s mainly because the learning format is listening to a very long presentation or lecture, but then there isn’t any follow up or practice, so I just end up forgetting what I learned. Cont.

For those that have completed their CPA exams and are working, would you say working is harder or the cpa exam is harder? Or is the only reason why the cpa exam is hard is because of working while taking cpa exams?

Tips on studying for REG? I have about 5 weeks left before my exam date and it’s my first CPA exam :/

Hello All , I Graduated and started working at KPMG as an auditor . Married, got pregnant and left the job. Now 3 kids and 12 years later , I decided to get back to the working force. Before I started working I wanted to get the CPA exam out the way, so I did that first. Now my challenge is finding a job in accounting that is eligible for CPA license requirements . I need my work life balance so don’t want to go back to busy season hours . But I feel like that is my only option. Any comments. ?

Prometric has rescheduled my exam.... now 6 times. Why even try to have them?! I’ve been studying for this wonderful CPA exam for 5 months now. Is this happening anywhere else?!

I am currently taking the CPA exam and registered with the KY board of accountancy, but I am moving to a different state next year. Am I able to stay registered in KY even though I will be getting my hours in another state? Or will I need to re-register with the state I am moving to?

Hi all! I just wanted to share my experience with the CPA exam and how I prepped in hope that it helps some of you. I just found out that I passed my last exam yesterday and I’m now in the process of applying for licensure. I took REG and passed with a 75 about two years ago now. I also took the other 3 around the same time and failed all of them. I tried to fit them all into a semester but that wasn’t realistic for me. Fast forward a year later after I got out of PA and went into industry cont.

How many hours do you remember putting in to pass the AUD CPA exam? The will to study is nonexistent...

Are you aware of the CPA exam credit extension to 2021 for NY CPA candidates impacted by COVID19? It’s on a person-by-person basis and you need to request the extension. Has anyone tried doing this yet? Can anyone shine more light on this? The extension would really help me, but I’m not sure what more to tell them in my email than the fact that I couldn’t sit for the exams this Spring/Summer due to test centers closing in NYC.

I’m proud to say that I pass my cpa exam: BEC 98, AUD 97,FAR 99, Reg 99. It was a long 4 month , but I’m finally done!

Which part of the CPA exam was the hardest for you? Which part did you spent the most time on?

Is a MBA worth it if I don't want to go into High Finance or MBB? Currently a Senior Financial Analyst from CA making a little under $90k (not in Bay Area). Im 25, a minority, and married (if that matters). Aiming to get into a finance position at a Tech company (FAANGT or other Big Tech). Contemplating if I should just continue studying for the CPA exam or ditch it to focus on GMAT and apply to B-School. I was also considering a Masters in Business Analytics as well. Very confused

I’m really struggling with having motivation to study for the CPA exam. Did you do anything along the way to keep yourself motivated and set a routine?

Finding it extremely difficult to study for the CPA exam and in general be productive/work towards my goals this year due to constant anxiety around potentially being laid off, being “high risk” for coronavirus, and lack of work-life balance. I have taken two sections of the CPA exam through California. Due to the 9 month window, I only applied for two sections initially. I just mailed my $50 reapp payment to the CBA. How long does it take to get re-approved so that I can schedule the last two sections ASAP? Thanks!
