Hello, looking for advice to help me break into the FINTECH space. I have 1 year experience within finance process improvements (this area is going well so far), my PMP, and two previous years within billing at a wealth management firm. Accounting degrees but do not want to focus on concentrated accounting roles. Really would like to get exposure with risk mitigation, finance tech, and process improvement. Looking to transition to the private sector. I have nearly 20 years as a fed in public health. I have a science background but haven’t held a technical role in years. I have a lot of leadership experience, strategic planning, and budget management including procurement of contracts. I have a PMP and will be a retired O5 officer. Any advice on companies that would be a good fit. At what level should I expect to come in?

I’m currently a PM with an MIS degree here in Toronto and PMP (along with other certs), and my background has become very generalized as I’ve worked on different areas of IT such as ERPs (Yardi, Workday), data automation, business analysis, IT service delivery, governance. I had originally targeted a role as a BA and try to get into consulting. Right now I’m not sure where I would fall. I have been told I could fit as a Cloud Delivery lead by another director at ACN. Any suggestions?

Is it just me, or does it feel like despite the climate of the current job market, companies are asking for extensive qualifications for much less? I have seen an abundance of posted PM positions with a bachelors, 5-8 yrs experience, and PMP certification for $60-$80K. Perhaps this is only happening in Michigan?

Do certifications from top business schools help your marketability?

I have a top 30 MBA. My company has a $15k yearly education budget. I’d like to obtain a product strategy and a marketing analytics cert from a top 10 school. Wondering if taking the course negates my MBAs credibility. I already have PMP, PMI-ACP, and a few others.

I have 3 years of PM experience and a PMP and getting paid 115k for SD office. Would you say it is justifiable?

I'm working for a small company managing the CRM program. I am a PMP and working on agile certification also, but want to make the switch to a product or architect role. I have been thinking about getting Salesforce certified but have seen a number of posts that have mentioned that (in the posters' opinions) Salesforce is already becoming "ancient" in tech. I don't want to waste my time just starting a Salesforce career when it's on the way out. Anyone have any advice or thoughts on the matter?

Do prince2 and pmp etc certification really matters when you have experience in PMO and service management

PwC fish, I should be joining PwC soon. Is there a PMP class/program to obtain the certification or do I have to pursue that with my own dime? I was trying to take advantage of any free certifications in the cyber area to grow my knowledge.

I have been out of the job market since transitioning from one master's program(MPP) in DC to another back home here in LA(MPA), to take care of my sick father. I have applied to dozens of local and federal and including consulting firms. I have got some PMP experience which I am looking to build on further. But does anyone have any suggestions on how to get recruiters and hiring managers to look at you before reaching out to them. This process has been exhausting.
