Currently a senior consultant with 5 YOE in consulting, and I’m interested in joining a start up or mid-sized company with a focus on strategic growth and innovation, what are appropriate exit opportunity roles to look into?
What are the typical exit profiles at a Senior Manager level? Looking at a few Digital Director, Senior Product Manager roles. A few of my colleagues went out as CIOs / CTOs, but I have never got such opportunities
Ok. I got an offer for a “senior consultant” role at this ~75 person company. They offered me $115k base and I’d actually like to be at 130. I want to just ask if there’s room for an additional 15k in the base. I don’t want to qualify my reasons why. Tell me why I should approach it differently or if this will be fine. I figure the worse they’ll say is “no”.
Just became a S2 at PwC in tax. If I am thinking about jumping to industry. Would it be considered a lateral or downward move to accept a senior accountant position or should I be shooting for manager?
anyone successfully negotiate future rank into offer? Interviewed for senior consultant role. Was Offered job but they stated they would meet my salary requirement by making me manager in a year. I’m still negotiating a 10% bump (I’ll take what I get during these times).
Just heard back today that I’m proceeding to the second phone interview with Amazon for a Tech Senior Product Management role. Waiting for the Hr coordinator to confirm on their end now that I provided my availability but wondering if any 🐠 out there have advice on anything to prep for in advance?
Does anyone else have intense imposter syndrome and believe they’ll never move on from entry level positions? I’m trying to apply for new jobs and I have enough years of experience to qualify for a senior position but I’m scared to make that jump.
Any IBM senior strategy consultants willing to chat about their role? I have a few questions! Thanks!
Starting interview process for product role with a Series A startup that raised $10M What are the key questions I should be asking? My thoughts: 1. What is the valuation? 2. What is the exit strategy? 3. What is the product (very vague idea after phone screen) 4. How will my boss help my growth? Very early in the process as you can see. Key concern is that I’d report to a Senior PM who has 1 year of consulting exp. and 1 year at the company. I’m approaching 1 year of consulting exp.
I was just promoted to senior. I would like to leave public after obtaining my CPA/having a busy season as a senior under my belt. PA wrecks havoc on my anxiety and I don’t know how long I can realistically last in this position. This might be horrible to say but I would honestly love a job with structured hours (ie just the basic 9-5, maybe some overtime here and there but not the norm/expected) and the work is also very boring/similar day to day. Can anyone recommend positions that fit this?
Would exiting to big tech as a sales engineer/senior sales engineer 1-year post mba be a bad exit? It’s a high paying job with upside but I’m not sure about career trajectory ?
Heard PwC is looking to separate c1/c2 business offerings to satisfy regulators and potentially position itself for 2022 sale? Some aspects may be announced this week by Senior Partner?
Interviewed for a senior technical position at a startup (about 50 employees). During the interview the CEO spent about 20 minutes answering my questions. There was no discussion about my technical skills or experience. They emailed that they are working on an offer. Is the interview process a redflag? The only technical screening that happened was the HR lead's 10 minute phone call.
What is a reasonable starting salary and starting bonus for a senior consultant position, 3 years consulting experience, 2 years relevant industry experience, MBA.
Which European country big4 office is open for unqualified accountants? For senior auditor role. Thanks!
Is a MBA worth it if I don't want to go into High Finance or MBB? Currently a Senior Financial Analyst from CA making a little under $90k (not in Bay Area). Im 25, a minority, and married (if that matters). Aiming to get into a finance position at a Tech company (FAANGT or other Big Tech). Contemplating if I should just continue studying for the CPA exam or ditch it to focus on GMAT and apply to B-School. I was also considering a Masters in Business Analytics as well. Very confused
Looking for a new position, really would love any feedback. Currently a senior analyst mostly have worked on salesforce and SAP implementations. 😀
Would you entertain interest for a senior leadership position with a company that just went bankrupt?
I make $240k in a corporate strategy role, was offered a senior manager role at Strategy&, should I accept? Assuming median year end bonus would be a ~20% total comp increase.
I’m confused. I was furloughed from a regional firm, and I’m scared of being laid off. I have an offer from a small cpa firm and an offer from a mid tier firm. My goal has always been to join b4, and I’m going to try when the hiring freeze (HF) is lifted...but what should I do right now? 1. Stay at regional, apply to b4 after HF 2. Take mid tier offer, apply to b4 after HF 3. Take small firm offer, apply to b4 after HF 4. Take mid tier offer, become senior, and then apply to b4 2 years later
I know video is taking a hit right now but anyone know of any senior video media roles out there? Willing to relocate for the right role.
If I just got a job for a senior creative position at an okay indie agency, but then got an offer from an in house creative department for a CD role a month into my new role, would it be bad to take it? Is it a bit of a shit bloke thing to do?
Recently got I-140 approved with senior position. Just got promotion result back and it’s good news. Should I reach out to my lawyer and possibly need to re-do my perm again? Anyone have similar experience?
Who else is tired of people who post on here with vague AF titles that don’t give any indication of job role or department? Senior Manager, Senior Vice President, Vice President, Manager, I’m looking at you. These are levels of seniority, not job titles. And they always seem to be the most opinionated.
Just got tapped for a very senior role but in exploring a bit further it was obviously a diversity hire. I can’t help but feel annoyed even though I guess it’s good the company is trying to find different talent.
Going to start interviewing for a Senior Program manager role at Amazon in a week and a half. Really would like legitimate shot. Any tips on interviewing?
Hello amazing PMs 👋 Amazon Senior PM role (L6) - What should I tell the recruiter as the expected total compensation? Also appreciate any tips / materials/ books for clearing the interviews
What are realistic exit opportunities for those in SAP practice? (PI Finance / PI Tech / general SAP). If you have exited, feel free to DM. I love the job but the WLB isn’t ideal when I have my whole life to work ^^Staff 1 looking to stay until I reach senior most likely .. need better 9-5 WLB
I have an offer for an analyst position at Deloitte but due to Covid and delayed hiring, start date is pushed back to a year after graduating from a master's program. I took up work during the gap so will have one years experience as a senior engineer. I'd rather be in consulting than engineering but feel that the Masters and year of experience are not valued given that there's only a slight pay bump over bachelor's analysts. Since I am 24 now, does it make sense to wait till post MBA to join?
So I heard the move used to be if you don't get the promotion from PwC after 2 years you try and go to another big 4 and get senior. Now I'm assuming it's a little more difficult or impossible? Is there a hiring freeze across the board?
Does anyone know what’s the compensation I could expect from Salesforce for a Senior Analyst position with 3.5 YoE?
Does anyone know what’s the compensation I could expect from Salesforce for a Senior Analyst position? With 3.5 YoE
Current lvl 10 Senior Analyst at ACN. What companies would be good exit opportunities for me? I have a background in CCNA Routing and Switching, Python, and general management consulting. Honestly not sure what I want to do, just know it's not what I'm doing now (taking unemployment calls) I have been here since college (2 years total) so it's been awhile since I looked for work. I have my Masters in a stem field. I guess what job positions/roles should I look for? Honestly open to anything
Thoughts on a tax senior leaving for an FP&A role at an insurance company? I’m desperate to get out of PA but don’t want to make any bad career moves due to that. The job seems really interesting to me as I don’t particularly like GL accounting.
I have been consulting for a tech company as a data engineer, and I am looking to make the switch to more of a data scientist or data analytics role. Any advice? I will soon have my masters in DS
Guilty! Being the interviewee recently has taught me what I failed to do as an interviewer. 1Outline your hiring process/timeline. Simple but oft overlooked. Tell them how many people they’ll be meeting, when u aim to shortlist, when u aim to hire. Communicate- someone is probably intensely waiting for any word. They may miss other opportunities for u. 2 Closure! Surprising how many places don’t let u know when they’ve moved on from u! 3 Can u offer helpful advice for them? 4 Reply to all.
DoorDash recruiter reached out for a role, proceeded to send me the analytical exercise a few days later. Prior to her sending me the exercise I realized I don’t want to go forward with the interview process as I’m too slammed with work at the moment. Can I just tell her that I no longer want to move forward? Will there be negative consequences?
Recently laid off from Sr. Consultant role in energy in Houston. 4 years exp in supply chain/procurement and 2 in consulting (mainly tech PM work aka scrum). Have my MBA and PSM 1 cert. I know opportunities are far and few between right now, but looking for either energy or supply chain consulting role. Open to travel once resumed. If anyone is aware of a need, I'd appreciate the help!
Was a corporate analyst and recently accepted a job as an auditor for the state/government. Can this role have any complications if in the future I try to get back in the private sector or corporate finance?
Deloitte Finance & Enterprise Performance...anyone know if this is the move to be positioned for a future VP/SM industry role in FP&A or Controllership? I.e. is it SOX, or strategic & digital finance?
Anyone at VMware willing to provide a referral for a process engineering role? Will DM details
Just had a awful experience with ex-consultants agency. Recruiter set up a call, started talking about the wrong role, then pulled up someone else’s resume. Anyone experience something similar?
Have any US 🐠 gone abroad for their MBA? Looking at LBS / HEC. Pros, cons? Not looking to exit into MBB, FAANG.
Any McKinsey & Company folks willing to provide a referral? Opening for an associate position. TIA!
What's the general policy on name and shame for a company that engages with you, gives you a take home case and then doesn't reject you but cancels the open position. It seems similar to the stories I've heard from likes of Uber
Looking to create a tool we can use for stakeholder relationship tracking. We want to be able to hear a clients name, look them up in the tool, see info about their role and department, and see which of our consultants have worked with them before and on what projects. Trying to think of an easy to use, interactive tool beyond something like excel. What’s something you’ve used for this before? Don’t think we’ll be going as far as purchasing a license for a CRM software
My old company is hiring a Digital Media Account Coordinator. I loved working here and the team, I just out grew them after 4 years. Message me if you have any Qs. I can also pass along your resume to the hiring manager directly. https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/2349657984
Take a project that’s the industry and role I want to exit to but has terrible hours or take a project that has no relevance to my development goals but will have better hours? I’m getting married in 4 weeks and doing last minute wedding things (I’m the bride).
If you were a graduate fresh out of college with a degree in finance, your Series 7, and your Series 66, what position/company would you go for, knowing what you know now? Thanks
Have a lead for a creative strategy role for telecoms, finance, etc! Leave your email or name if interested
Went from wanting to only focus on my career and not even wanting kids to now wanting to be a SAHM while I raise kids and go back into a more relaxed job. Has anyone else had a crazy shift in thinking like that? Been single this whole time, so no one is influenting this
How do you handle being asked to support “diversity recruiting” when you don’t actually recommend your firm to diverse talent? How do you manage the optics of saying no and potentially saying no repeatedly?
Hello, colleagues who have exited public accounting. What salary is expected for a senior tax manager role in a software company with about 2 thousand employees?
What can I learn that will give me a solid shot for the interview for GCS? Currently an iPaaS PM focused on integrations and owning my own vertical, with prior Tech Strategy experience in the Big4. I need this to happen in my life within the next 2 years. Just got a second grey hair. Time to make dreams come true before life wastes away.
First year big 4 MD here with a question... ...if you beat your metrics by say double or triple or more, is it true that bonus hits a diminishing return and incremental sales or managed revenue don’t really impact VC?
Does thinking about ur project at home count as "billable hours"?Apparently my manager thinks so. The joy of fed consulting.
I'm in final rounds w a large tech company (interview already scheduled), but I saw that the company just removed the job posting I'm applying for on their website. Does this mean they already selected a candidate and I'm wasting my time? Or does it mean they have enough candidate selection for the final round to where if I have an offer, I'm less able to negotiate since the company has a lot of back up candidates. First time leaving consulting so all of this is new to me.
Is CLEAR worth it? I’m based in SFO
Are google interview evaluations standardized internationally enough for the advice I get from friends who are googlers in Europe to be relevant for me interviewing for roles in Mountain View? Or do different countries and offices look for different things?
A&M fishes do you feel pressure while taking vacations as your comp is tied to billable hours? Also what’s the policy on remote work, can people work from another country (eg. Canada or Europe ) for a few days if they are supporting during US work hours. Big 4 is strict about international work location, so just curious.
Should've noticed the lack of stains on the front. I've manage to run out for errand both Sat and Sun w my tshirt inside out. Jeesh. This project's gotta end soon. My weekend brain is dissolving.
Considering an Intern offer for American express -Risk analyst and Baker Hughes-Business analyst .Which place is better to start career ? Where are more chances of conversion to full time offer? Ps: Also having 2 yrs experience in same industry before Location -Italy
