Are marketing agencies really required to have their employees come into the office? We all work using computers and sharing our files in the cloud, the only time we see each other is for meetings, which can absolutely be done through Zoom. How is your job handling this atm?

Why MBB interviewers during interviews wear casual clothes during zoom interviews? While i was wearing suit? I mean one of my interviewers was wearing Mickey Mouse T-shirt. While other was sitting casually on sofa and smoking vape. Shouldn’t it work in both way like professional set up?

As a guy, is it unprofessional to have stud earrings on during zoom calls?

I recently had a Director reach out to me to fill a role on their team. We had a great 1hr zoom meeting. Four days later I came into the office and met her and her 2nd in command, again great. I received an email asking for a very small “audition” (nothing crazy or anything they can utilize) however I still don’t know the salary. Anyone have any experience of an unknown salary this far into an interview process and how to break the ice?

Today I had the most embarrassing hot mic moment. I was on a zoom call, went to take a piss, pissed loud and clear, flushed the toilet, looked at my phone screen, and saw that I never muted myself. No one called me out on it, but I was mortified 😵.

Hi guys, yesterday I had a interview with Accenture but could not join due to technical fault from their side as they don’t take interview by any team or zoom links, it’s their own software. I informed the HR about the same but did not hear back from them till now. Will they reschedule the interview? Did anyone face the same? It was the final round of interview.

Researching the job mkt & pay for nursing: It is so easy to set up a first interview esp. as a nurse. Set up a zoom meeting, in the zoom meeting ask abt job details and ask for the salary range. They will give it to you, and in my case it was the same range for both of the companies. (Hospice oncall nurse here👋). Then you fit in somewhere on that continuum based on education & experience—that where the negotiation comes in—they will make a case to place you as low as possible on the scale.

Apparently, it's a tactic being used against companies who track productivity and track your usage at home... this is new to me.

Has anyone actually been fired or told that they have seen their productivity low via Remote Spying Software?

It makes sense to monitor communication such as Slack but tracking the CPU usage feels wrong :/

We are supposed to go into the office two times a week. Our team has designated to come in on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I go in each of those mornings, but leave at noon if nobody else shows up. I have done this for the past three weeks since nobody shows up. I wouldn’t mind going in and staying, if we had meetings with people in the same office. Instead I meet with people in four different time zones via zoom with our cameras off.

How would you feel if your final interview was recorded over zoom?

Asking because this is something I’ve had to push back on and want to understand what the sentiments are around this in the community.

I received 2 offers. Preferred one was verbal, and I know the salary. The other is going to be revealed in a zoom. Is it rude to reach out and tell them no and not attend the zoom? Or , sit through it and hear the offer even if I’m most likely going to decline it? And if so, is that considered to be (more) rude than outright refusing it? Thanks in advance.

Woke up to a 1:1 meeting invite from HR without any context. Million thoughts ran through in few seconds and then I noticed a slack message that she wanted to touch base to know more about a tool that I launched for the whole company. Phew!!

People, please add at least one liner agenda in meeting invites. Plenty of things are happening everywhere and people like me will appreciate it.
