Company is drastically exceeding what's on the stated job description.

we recently had a new director start, he's an old school guy and believes in 'in-person' events. On the job description it states up to 20% travel, however he is proposing for us to be traveling over 50% of the time, which is clearly a huge request and above and beyond a simple expansion of job duties. Is there any recourse or pushback I can provide here since this is clearly above what was listed on the job description?

You can get a new job. Roles often expand and evolve, which isn't illegal or even immoral. If you don't like the new direction, update your resume and start looking fkr something else.

As Marketing and Sales:
This exceeds the agreed job scope. A 50% travel requirement warrants renegotiation of duties, compensation, or role expectations before implementation.

Company on track for 22 goals. Traditionally included 2% profit sharing at YE, this year however comes with a unique caveat.

The CEO added a qualifier, to be eligible for the payout one must agree to and sign a binding arbitration agreement. In the CEOs email to staff he indicates these agreements are standard in most companies and typically required for new hires.

I’m curious to get insight from others. Is this standard practice and generally required for new hires? Something feels off.

My company covers in depth results each week, including meetings set/attended, wins, revenue, retention etc. I feel as if evaluating in such depth is detrimental to the psyche, as you never get to “ride the high.” In addition, some weeks are simply slower than others, and it’s not always representative of what the results at the end of the period or quarter will be. Is this not a big deal, and I’m I placing too much importance on it? Or is it beneficial to review results less frequently?

Been working for my company for over a year now. 14/15 months. Started me at 48k after college. No pay increase yet, I travel and do sales for an engineering company. Projects and products I sell can range from 5k-4million. But I don’t make commission, and neither do my co-workers. We’re a relatively small company. Where do I start the conversation with my boss on commission? And what are some of you other account managers/traveling sales people make?

Fellow enterprise tech sales fish, I’m interested to hear your perspective. I’ve been in a rut lately and seriously considering leaving sales. I think it’s primarily fueled by one thing:
After a 6 mo cycle I closed a large deal (4x the average deal size) prior to receiving delayed 2022 comp plans. The deal counts as a 2022 deal. On last years comp plan it would’ve paid out at 10%. This year it pays out at a measly 4%.

How do you/have you navigated your way through and out of these situations?

I recently had an initial interview for a technical recruiter position. The guy on the phone stated that this is not a 9-5 job and long hours are expected.
