It’s super annoying when all the girls who weigh 100-120 pounds talk about diet and working out and here I am at 190 lbs and stuffing my mouth with food
I agree with PwC1. Hiding health issues adds to the stigma. Be open. You might save someone else too!!
Idk if there are people on your team you could mention to them that you are triggered by that kind of conversation and ask them nicely to try and avoid it ? And explain that you know they didn’t mean anything hurtful by their comments but if they could just avoid them around you you would find it really helpful. Idk. I know it can be hard. A lot of people have HUGE stigmas around mental health issues and aren’t always the most supportive or understanding but maybe if there are people that you do feel comfortable with you could let them know the comments do bother you ?
I’m recovering too. I have many years though, so it’s easier to ignore the “diet” or busy season binges madness
Nothing to say except I’m also recovering and it’s tough for me too.
@OP yes
Yes I understand and I hate it too; I just act like I need to go to restroom and kindly excuse myself...that’s my way to prevent thoughts from seeping in my brain
I don’t like calling it a diet. But I do enjoy prioritizing my health and mindfully eating. I’m sorry it triggers you - maybe try to view it as people trying to be healthy vs skinny? Or maybe avoid them? I’m sure it’s tough.
