I can absolutely relate with you. Sometimes it feels like we're strangers to our own homes and strangers to our own children. Just keep at it and your daughter will get familiar with your face, scent, and voice.
It is a hard adjustment if you've been away for so long overseas. She's still a toddler though so there is plenty of time for her to get adjusted to you. Don't worry too much you will be fine
It's hard at first when we had our firstborn. Felt like I had to learn how to be with someone I should have a deep connection with automatically. But I just made the best out of our situation. Good luck with yours
Keep at it, keep trying with the bonding. It is very difficult. Sometimes we do feel like strangers to our kids and have that hard time bonding.
It can take a few months to establish that father-daughter bond. Don't be hard on yourself. Be consistent in spending time alone with her. The bond is always there.
I understand what it feels like when I became a parent. It was hard, really. But you will eventually form that bond after some time.
I can't relate for now. But this makes me sad and nervous. I'd be facing this problem in the future for sure.
