Although it looks like most posting are not experiencing this, my team has noticed a huge change. Because all the prospects in our industry are 100% remote now, the only way to cold call is using personal cell #s. Zoom info has not been great for our particular industry, although we are SMB/MM so that’s to be expected. Other prospecting tools I’ve evaluated are saying the same thing regarding reliable direct numbers - of course, depends on your industry.

That being said, I’ve actually seen more responsiveness over email now for this reason.

Take a look at emails, make sure they are as personalized as possible (to their problem, NOT to them as an individual) and add timely one-offs over social. We also use Sales Nav, social DMs, etc. but really just try to find where they are most active. Also leaning in on past dead opportunities where we have a bit more of a lead in. Good luck!

like

I agree, it has got harder to reach people. I would recommend informal messages on linked in and personalised emails. I found merge mail to be really effective for getting a good number of emails out, but adding a customised message for each person targeted.

Good luck!

I network with COI’s, complimentary service providers, etc and we get together and share prospects, contact info, make introductions etc. I attend networking events relevant to the target market and industries I focus on. I host my own in-person and virtual events…some purely social and others are market updates, expert panels, and so on. Folks are much more likely to take your call or email if you’ve met them in person.

Interesting take. I haven't noticed this personally. What do you think the correlation to WFH is? Are you cold-calling/emailing?

What industry are you in?

Is this a change from pre-pandemic times or are you new to this role?

Agreed, it getting tougher to the point that I really just want to leave the industry all together

like

What is the correlation between any of this and WFH? I haven’t experienced any of what you described.

Cold calling and constant outreach is part of job, current clients are easy I have their phone numbers etc it’s net new I am struggling with honestly.

Sometimes (mostly) the gatekeeper is the one doing that objection. Do you have access to ZoomInfo? Or have you had any email reply? Most of the time they have their number linked on the signature. Abril is a difficult month. Spring break vacation, taxes season, etc. Good luck!

Agreed, if they reply lol. And Zoom info is not great but better than nothing right

What industry/people are you selling to?

My company still won’t give us more then 5 WFH days a year. My partners live across the country and I work on a computer and a phone. I don’t understand the thought process.

That doesn’t make any sense, everyone has been home for so long now

Yea it has been very interesting. Things are going back to some sort of normal though. Seems like we are doing more in person now.

I try in person and am not having as much luck…appreciate all the awesome comments

Are there any companies hiring remote rn and willing to take a change on someone looking for a career change? I’m a senior manager in operations, but I just don’t like what I do. Honestly, the money doesn’t speak to me anymore either. I understand I probably need to take a step or two down in level, but I am willing to grind! Thank you!

So I've been at my job for 5+ years as a data analyst/back office support team. I made my way up into making a little over $40k. I've been WFH the past 2 yrs and overtime more than half my team has now been pulled out to work for a diff department which resulted in me taking 90% of our daily tasks to handle. I'm at a point where the salary I'm getting is disrespectfully low for all the work I do. Should I ask for a raise? And if so, how do I go about asking without sounding greedy.

Could you please be so kind as to help me decide which one to choose?

Hi all! I’m looking for some insight as I’m thinking through the possibility of moving away from John Deere. I have 18 years with John Deere, managing anything from entire vehicle programs to smaller software or hardware feature enhancements. Prior experience in quality engineering and design engineering. I have an MS and BS. Some business consulting on the side. With the new possibilities in remote work, many new doors have opened and I’m looking for new potential challenges and opportunities.

Lately, I've been hearing a lot from my peers about how sales isn't a real profession.
I work at a tech startup and it mostly comprises developers. They can't stop emphasizing their importance in the food chain and I can't figure if I'm too humble or they're too arrogant.
This yapping comes from people I've known since college. I have successfully blocked all such negativity but wanted to know if anyone here has faced such scenarios.

AWS vs Cloudflare BDR roles

AWS lowballed but I negotiated to match Cloudflare. Cloudflare offers more equity but AWS has a higher base.

I love Cloudflare. The people are great but it’s an engineering culture and the sales team isn’t as well shaped up and I can’t go for a promotion until at least 18 months of tenure. I am an investor in the company and think of them super highly. I’ve already got half a years SDR experience and AWS promotes quicker.

AWS has prestige but is it worth it?
