Seeking advice on the next move: 1.5 YOE as Strategy Analyst + 1.5 YOE as a BD/Partnerships Associate in healthtech. What are realistic “growth” roles for someone with my background and experience? Thanks!

As context: I left consulting bc I didn’t enjoy my firm’s work structure - multi-staffed model w/ IB hrs; seeking to leave existing role due to issues with leadership + limited growth opportunities. Understand environment right now is not good, but trying to understand what is logical for me

Senior associate in the big 4 currently working on huge finance transformation project. This has given me a ton of stakeholder management experience and really put me in the deep end in terms of workload and client engagement. My question is, what's the best way to pivot for a relaxed high paying industry role? What type of roles do you more experienced consultants pivot to when you feel burnt out with your work and want to take on a completely different role in industry without a salary cut?

Just finished my final interview with ZS Associates for Business Operations Associate position in NY. It sounds incredible, anything I should know if I end up with an offer?

Interviewing for a commercial transactions associate position next week. What interview questions should I ask? What does a new associate in a transactional practice typically do? I assume it’s less research than litigation.

I am currently a 2nd year tax associate at one of the big 4. After spending a year, I realize that tax is not something I would want to do for the rest of my career. I was looking at Tax Tech but I was wondering if this will pigeon hole me more into tax or will it provide me more options to pivot out (tech). What are its exit opportunities? I’m interviewing for a lateral position and have a few zoom interviews with associates. How should I prepare for this 2 hour set of interviews? What kind of questions should I ask or be prepared to answer? Any topics I should stay away from (besides the obvious ones like politics/religion)? I know associate interviews are supposed to be pretty relaxed, but I also want to prepare as much as possible. Any advice is welcome!!

Rant: I interviewed at a mid size firm for Senior Tax Associate role and went really well. Partner calls after a couple days to say they want to offer me a job and asked me if I wanted senior 1 or 2. I said senior 2 since I have a years experience as a senior and she was okay with it and discussed salary. She said she will think about the final offer and let me know. A week later she comes back to tell me that my small firm experience probably won’t help much and it would be difficult for me...

I am a mid-level (rising fifth year) real estate associate considering an offer to move in-house. The position is at a company I’m really interested in and would probably provide a significantly better work-life balance. I’m concerned about the pay cut - going from cravath scale to about $175k. Likely no significant bonus potential. I’m interested in hearing any perspectives from those who have taken a similar pay cut - was it worth it to you?

Would you take a manager role when exiting with <2 YOE?

Backstory: I gave a high salary range for a company I was interviewing with and during negotiation they couldn’t hit it at the senior associate band so they offered a manager title instead. I turned it down because I thought it’d be foolish and short sighted to take a role like that so early in my career. Interested in hearing other thoughts and personal experiences!

Anyone here work in-house? 2nd year associate, aiming to get an in-house role at a startup or smaller company and thinking of getting CIPP certified.

I have heard privacy is a big issue for companies these days and am wondering if it is worth getting certified to stand out. I have been doing M&A and PE work before so I do not have any applied privacy experience (but I think it’s really interesting).

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
