I’ve been interviewing at AWS and made it to the final phase - VIRTUAL loop interview for Partner Solution Architect position. Any insight into what I should be expecting, tips and how to get prepared? Also is it advisable to spread loop interview over two days or just get it done in one day

Has anyone else experienced major difficulties in their legal writing when moving from plaintiff counsel to a position at defense counsel and making an argument to defeat strict liability and punitive damage claims?
It has been 6 months and the partner has been very patient but I keep getting lost in the morass of facts and cannot draft a comprehensible argument

Interviewing for a senior consultant position at EY. Completed my case study round, partner round left. Does anyone know the format of that? What can I expect?

I’m too scared to have a child with my partner because I’m worried about my career. I’m 26 (F) and I’m the second most junior position at my firm. Firms act like they will support you and that it won’t affect your career but I feel like it’s never true in practice, especially since I’m quite junior. Any advice?

Anyone have any thoughts on working cross country from your firm? I’ve been offered a lateral role working remotely with a CA office with the understanding that if as a senior associate they’d be interested in considering me for partner I’d relocate and that I will travel to the office for 2 weeks a quarter to work with the team. Is this an awful idea? It seems like a dream come true for me but not sure if I’m screwing myself career wise.

Feeling a little bit low-balled by a Bay Area public company offering me a role at 145K w/ 9years of experience. Will it sound ridiculous if I counter with $175K? It will still be a COL adjustment down, but more acceptable, especially with my partner relocating with me and him working remotely.

If the goal is maximizing long run TC - is leaving consulting pre-partner for F100 mid-level exec role a good play?

I was told to have a meeting with the hiring partner and HR person to discuss an offer. This is a new process for me. Was told they ll make an oral offer during the discussion and I ll consider an oral offer, should I negotiate the terms during the meeting or push for a formal offer letter and provide feedback?

Had the partner in charge of the tax group I was previously in at a B4 firm email me encouraging me to apply for an opening with them (basically same role I was in before, but at a SM level).

The catch is, I was part of their COVID RIF layoffs in summer 2020, and don’t think I’ll forget that anytime soon. Do I just respond that I’m not interested, or do I politely make it clear I have zero interest in ever returning to the firm?

32F, 10 YOE at two big 4’s in both tech and HC. Tough decision and want input! Options:

1. Offer to go to Deloitte as SM $200k+
2. Admitted to NYU and Columbia full time Bschool programs - no scholarship at either
3. Admitted to Darden w more than half scholarship
4. Offer to go to Two FAANGS as a program manager, 150k base, 75k annual equity (non technical role)

I don’t love what I do but seems I could make partner in 3-5 years at D. Having tough time turning down Columbia Bschool or FANG.

🐠 who jumped into industry internal strategy roles from strategy consulting... how has your TC evolved over time? Obviously, i dont expect it would be easy to reach consulting partner TC unless you get lucky and become very senior, but wondering overall comparison of TC trajectory between strategy consulting vs. similar role but in-house

I’ve been out of the interview game for a long time but I have one coming up with a partner at PwC for an advisory role- is it going to be technical (expected to complete a case) or more conversational? I am currently facing the following dilemma.. I have gotten job offer for entry level Salesforce position ( role) at a Salesforce partner.
At my current consultancy, I finally landed a good project/role, using AWS cloud.
Have been there for 1 month, and so far, so good, The client company is great ,
The team is great..I will be working closely with both the scrum master and architect( both roles I aspire to)..
Both positions $$ the same, benefits same.

On a meet and greet zoom with a potential client today. Junior employee and company senior partner. Junior asks if we can supply him with an animator by Friday. I respond politely that we’re not talent management, it would cost him more than hiring directly, and it would shrink our freelance pool for our other project clients. The senior partner sees the sense in this a mile off. Now the question: did the senior partner include the junior in order to get him to ask these sorts of questions?

Partners - in your opinion and based on what you have seen, what’s a better time to exit consulting - as a partner to a CXO role or as a Partner (-1) / Associate Principal to a VP/SVP role, if someone wants to maximize growth and retire (relatively) early? Have an interview coming up with the chief revenue office. The role I'm interviewing for is the head of NA HR supporting him. It's a maturing startup in hyper grow stage with aggressive revenue goals.
Appreciate any pointers of things I should bring up and discuss that would give him the confidence that I'd be an excellent HR partner.

I am looking for some perspectives. I’m in a technical consulting role and would like to end up as a VP or CTO one day. My plan is to go for an online MBA while working full time (6 figures hard to give up) then pivot afterwards to managing a devs or product management. Wanting some advice….I had an a lengthy phone chat with a partner at my dream firm. It was an informational interview and went well but referring didn’t come up and kinda slipped my mind. That was about a week ago. Would reaching out through email asking if he felt comfortable referring be appropriate or should I try and get a referral from someone else?
