Have to vent. Just had a leader say “you there??” via Slack because I didn’t respond within 60 seconds. About a non-urgent issue (sending an email out). This doesn’t help the fact that I’m trying to work on not feeling like I need to respond immediately to everyone. This is a recurring thing. Sorry if it comes off as petty but I feel like I need to be at their beck and call 24/7. I’ve gotten text messages in the evening similar to this too.

Have an interview for full time over zoom and it says dress code is business smart. So tie or no tie? No clue what that means

Wassup fam?? How are the Amazon "loop interviews" where they have you interview with like 5 people being conducted given Covid? I feel like just typing out every single LP so I can reference it during my interviews if it's just over the phone/zoom!! Thanks!

What to wear for industry webex interview? Is a shirt and jacket enough? Feel silly if I wear a tie

Investing in Slack? Seems way undervalued compared to its user base. What am I missing?

Has anyone done a case interview over zoom? If so what what was it like? How did it differ from a regular in person case interview ?

It really bothers me when people are rude over Teams/Slack. I just don’t get why people would be rude when it’s so easy to be nice (or even even cordial). Ok Monday vent session over. Thank you for listening.

Quarantine emotional-outreach update: at the end of most zoom/teams/webex calls— when Ive been seeing peoples faces and smiling and having a nice enough time—I have to fight the urge to say “I miss you” or even “I love you” as Im signing off. (Not clients, just work people, but that’s bad enough)

Also, I started doing the daily readings on the Conference of Bishops website. Anyone interested in joining me to set up a group bible study of sorts via zoom or something? Could be a good way to meet one another personally and professionally, and it’ll force us to hold one another accountable to do it everyday.

Personally, thought it was unique and made me want to watch the Lion King again. Going to ask him why he put it up but wanted to see what others thought while I'm waiting.

On a zoom hearing now where the presenting counsel decided not to put his presentation into full-screen. Result is that the browser clearly has a bookmark bar with “Sue a Judge”, “How to Sue a Judge”, and “I have sued a ...” Interesting choice!

On zoom call:
My boss was having technical difficulties and couldn’t hear us, but we can hear him. He starts cussing because he’s frustrated and his wife comes in and asks what’s up. Then he says “My teams call isn’t working and I don’t want to be in this f**king meeting. Do you remember *insert account person’s name*? Yeah he’s leading it so you know he’s probably bitching about me” WE COULD HEAR EVERYTHING. The account guy was like well I will be now 😂

Mid-20s, NYC, HF, have never dated before. Would like to start. Two issues:

1. No recent pictures of myself.
2. Kinda opposed to virtual dating/zoom calls, but open to it if that’s the only option. What are current expectations for meeting up?

Advice?

Who else gets trigged by people who spent 99% of their day with a Skype status of “busy” regardless of whether they are in meetings or one calls? 🙋‍♂️

Looking for tools to keep communication going with WFH. We're a small company with <50 employees. We're looking for a solution to keep everyone informed. We have slack, and use Jira company wide for project management. But management would like to get daily updates on what people are accomplishing.

Whenever I am in a zoom call I get super sleepy?? When I hangup, or I am working on my own I feel energized and ok, but as soon as I enter a call my eyes start shutting down and I can’t stop the urge of yawning?? Does this happen to anyone else?

Would you be up for agreeing a “no meeting/calls/zoom” day implemented in your agency ( or on your team)? Would you support it? Concerns/obstacles?

I’m switching projects for the first time soon and I’ve started to slack on my current project, i do my work but not like i used to. I feel bad. Is this normal? I’ve been on this one for a year now

So unmotivated by partners complete lack of communication and transparency during COVID... Radio silence re: firm health, bonus prospects, unresponsive to emails, team zoom mtgs scarce + a joke, etc.

Had a zoom interview and was on video right on time. There’s the recruiter, chomping chips, looking hit, oblivious I was there. Baby screaming in background, dog barking. The realness was refreshing.

If I never hear a Slack notification sound again, I’d die happy.

Just got rejected for a role in industry at a company I really wanted to work for. Feedback was that it doesnt look like the candidate has soft skills to report status to executives.
I'm livid because that's literally my job now...and I have gotten praised by multiple EP and EM on my executive presence.
Stupid zoom interviews dont do me justice :(

Super dumb question... if I’m working on a doc during a zoom meeting am I still visible or will it let people know I’m not paying attention by flipping to my initials?

Had a (Zoom) training today with some fellow junior associates where talked primarily about diversity in our firm. 1 associate (a man) characterized women leaving the firm after starting families as their "independent choices", which I understood to imply that there is nothing wrong with the profession and women leave because they want to focus on families. The group spoke up and rebutted this but it got me thinking -

EDNY Attorney Admissions- After submission of documents (Cert of Good Standing, Petition for Attorney Admission and Sponsoring Affidavit), there is a requirement to "Appear on the date of the hearing with the sponsoring attorney". Does anyone know whether the admission hearings are still live at the court? I know many hearings are online (e.g., Zoom) because of Covid-19 concerns. I need to coordinate with sponsoring attorney. Thanks.

What's your favorite lullaby to sing to your children, I mean teammates before bedtime? I feel like just saying goodnight over zoom isn't good enough. Not even sure if they go to bed when I tell them to.
