Hi, Is Trading & Investing in stocks banned for software engineers in JP Morgan? What about Mutual Funds, are they restricted/monitored ? Can we trade in Futures & Options ? If not equity stocks, can we trade in commodity exchange? Or maybe Forex exchange? Or Cryptos? Just want to know the boundaries of trading & investment and work accordingly! What are your experiences?

A few things:
1.) Unfortunately a lot of postings are out there and still active right now, but not necessarily hiring. Some of these companies are also scaling back the people they bring on at lower levels with H1-b’s and Green Card processing. (Should not really affect things like secondments which ultimately will probably increase at a lot of larger companies as it may be a way to get around hiring freezes)
2.) Many of these companies want other accounting firm or professional services firm experience. If you don’t have it, it doesn’t mean you won’t get the job, you just have a larger uphill battle.
3.) Find our who is in a higher level role within that area at the company, reach out on LinkedIn and start networking with them. I got my foot into doors at multiple companies that way when I was looking. It may not lead to anything, but it is good interview practice and is not a waste of time.
