Anyone been brave enough to ask why a position was open? And if so did that effect the rest of the interview or their decision?
I recently accepted a position in the ICU, but the interviewer described that they're "like a family" (yikes) and how they have travel nurses renew their contract for a year cause it's a great unit to work. But like, if it's so great then why did someone leave...? Lol. Still excited about the job but that did sit on my mind for awhile
Seen a lot of posts on tech relating to FAANG and unicorns recently regarding exit ops, interviews, and roles. Created this for sharing insights and general networking. Open to all, but I encourage those already in tech to join and help others out.

Reached out to an MD in Barclays for a job and he got me an interview which wasn't exactly aligned with my education (was looking for an ib/wealth management role and got interviewed for a trader role)

In honor of National Voter Registration Day, The New Yorker released the transcript of a previously unpublished interview with James Baldwin, who gave a first-hand account of "Freedom Day 1963," a Black voter-registration drive in Selma, Alabama. Baldwin's descriptions from that day are so vivid and detailed that you can feel the fear and anger of the event. If you have a couple of minutes, I highly recommend you read it.

I currently work in house at a company with a fairly large legal group. My role has been primarily focused on contracting but I have also taken on a mentorship/oversight role for more junior attorneys on my team. A formal management role in our department has opened up and I am interviewing for it as an internal applicant. My manager is very supportive of this and I have worked previously with the person I will interview with for this position. Would be my 1st formal management role. Any advice?

Is it extremely bad form to verbally say yes to a job offer (nothing signed) then turn around and take a competing offer somewhere else instead? I got an offer this morning and said yes, then called to cancel a second interview I have booked for next week with someone else. They said I was their favorite candidate and offered me more money (still want me to complete the second interview). If I do this interview and they make a better offer is it bad form to take my yes back with the first job?

I was interviewing for a Product Manager role. Went through 3 rounds of interviews, positive feedback throughout. Before the UK long weekend, I was told a 4th and final round will be scheduled soon. Yesterday I was informed that they are proceeding with another candidate. I asked HR what were the weaknesses in my profile and she said "None, really".
This was my most promising prospect for a move to a PM role yet in a year and I kind of feel helpless. Should I seek feedback from interviewers?

I have 2 opportunities but the timelines are misaligned. I think I'm shortly getting an offer from one while I'm midway thru the process with the other.
