Since my marriage my sister and I have also actually gotten a lot closer. I think it’s common to lose touch at first while you’re figuring out your relationship/marriage as that’s what happened once I got married. I’m 9 months into my marriage and my sister and I are closer than ever now!
My younger brother and I have always been close. I got into a serious relationship 1.5 years ago and still hang out w him at least once a week or not more. Also my partner loves my bro so that def helps
My relationship with my brother was spotty well into adulthood. It has gotten so much stronger since he got married, and then even stronger once he had a kid. We are now in touch more regularly than ever before.
Haven’t seen or spoken to my brother since1996. But that’s more about how different we are as people, not about losing touch after marriage.
Hear that. I think brotherhood can go either way. Resentment or fellowship. I’ve had rocky points with my brother as well; working to keep communication open and supportive. Wishing you the best as you surround yourself with people YOU enjoy! 🍻
