What platform is the chat running on? Discord is nice because you can have certain words or phrased immediately flagged and therefore not posted in a chat.
Currently struggling with that because one of the more senior leaders says some rather dicey things. I don't know how to bring it up with him or what to say really.

Easy. Just Set the tone.
Write down the purpose of the chat group - maybe include a couple of rules like: "Keep it positive. This is a place to support one another." Or "this chat cannot support conduct concerns. If you belive a conduct concer has occurred, please report it to ......"
Set automation or a reminder to post the purpose and rules ever week/month/quarter. Whatever is right based on chat activity.
You can even work with ERG leads to create the rules as a group and make sure they are self monitoring or posting the purpose/rules on a regular cadence
