How often do you meet with the high-ranking officials (board members, C-suite, shareholders, homeowners, etc) of your organization?

How often do you respond to emails from law students who want to learn about your firm/practice area? I get like a dozen requests right around OCI every year. Frankly I’m tired of speaking to them and answering the same boring questions, especially if I know they have a low GPA and no chance of summering at my firm, but I do feel bad saying no/ignoring them

Feeling like it's only a matter of time before I have to tell the new marketing dept head that the snazzy jargon just makes him sound like a tryhard and alienates our customer base

At what point do you fire a client? I have a 49 yr old client w/drawing $50K out of a $72K IRA (trad) to “pay off her home”, a move I completely disagree with/advise against.

Hi 👋. I posted here a few weeks ago about being nervous conducting a PIP conversation with my team member.
I did it this week and let me just say it was the weirdest conversation ever. The guy is usually argumentative and tries to disprove every bit of feedback. But this time he just sat there and asked no questions and said nothing.
Maybe he’s looking for new jobs already - don’t mind this at all and this would be a good outcome for him overall.

So a client who brought me on for a rebrand/relaunch has shifted his social media in house to his friend’s 17 year old son. Despite his age, the kid has less than no clue, the posts have typos, I presented some concepts based on certain elements being in place...he ran with them despite those elements not happening...I should sit back and laugh(ok grin). But now I’m hearing people think this is MY work typos and all. FYI I’m talking typos like “your” and “you’re”, see our latest “add”, etc

I have a virtual interview tomorrow through Teams - 1) what is appropriate to wear for a video interview? Should I treat it as an in person and wear a blazer? 2) I’ve used teams plenty on my work computer but never on my personal computer/through my personal email - any ideas on how to make sure it works? I posted this somewhere else before I remembered that I am in this bowl :) so, I changed jobs 6-7 months ago and I am realizing it is not a good fit. Leadership seem to not want to hear the truth so people tell them what they want to hear and if you don’t middle management gets pissed at you. I am seriously thinking about looking somewhere else. My question is how do you answer the “why are you looking to leave” question without bad mouthing your current company?

I was called into HR because a coworker overheard a conversation between me and another colleague taking about cable/streaming shows that we watched or recorded. I mentioned that I recorded a few true-crime shows. My colleague jokingly said, "I hope I'm not on your hit-list!". I replied, "Not anymore." HR pulled me in to say a coworker complained about me talking about hit-lists, and they were now scared. HR wouldn't say who complained, so do I have a right to ask about the resolution to this?

I just started meds yesterday and the change in my focus and attention to detail is mind blowing. It’s amazing the power that asking easy-to-answer questions can have on a community. It’s a great way to get nervous users more comfortable with engaging.

What prompted you to do a complete community overhaul? Did it pay off?

I’ve started a new job and though they have a community, it has been stagnant for a long time. Would you face the change directly with a “we’re back!” style post, or just increase the activity without acknowledging the absence?

I’m finding it surprisingly emotionally taxing to be constantly fighting for ways we can benefit the community when the rest of the team focuses on ways the community benefits the company.

Wanted to share a recent win in case this would work for anyone else in the bowl -- We started a “share some music” channel in the community and it’s amazing how a non-related topic can encourage participation.
