My son is turning 13 and doesn’t want a birthday party. As any good parent would, I was going to completely ignore what he says he wants 😋 and do a surprise party. My friends (with no kids) are telling me that is a horrible idea and it will backfire and he will hate me for it. Now I am torn. In reality, it is not that he doesn’t want a party but he is insecure and worried that it won’t be as fun because his ‘friends have high expectations’ (his words) is this what parenting teens means🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m 8.5 weeks pregnant and throwing up once per day, mostly after the majority of my lunch has been digested and sometimes after all of it has digested so I’m gagging and nothing coming up. It’s so hard to see the end of this road, I feel miserable.

I’m wondering if a small legal department for a large company is more of a pro or con? On one hand I suspect it’s less organized, on the other it might be a great leadership opportunity. Any insight? On the topic of intimacy with partners… I’ve been with my boyfriend for 2 years and the past year his libido has dropped to zero. Mostly due to work stress (he says). Since iOS 14 changes, Facebook ads isn't the same anymore. Why?

A. >75% iOS users denied tracking. They are no longer tracked across websites/apps. Facebook lost its edge.
B. Targeting and conversion tracking aren't as effective anymore.
C. Many advertisers have been migrating their budgets from Facebook to Apple and Amazon ads.

Dads with older children: while raising your children, did your children prefer their moms over you? I know some will prefer dads over moms, but I assume majority of children out there will prefer their moms over dads… I have one child and it kinda hurts to see my child always preferring the mom over me. Our 5 month old started daycare about 5 weeks ago. We’ve already had to keep her home for 2.5 of those 5 weeks due to catching various illnesses (croup, rsv, brinchiolitis, etc). Both my wife and I have been sick most of that time as well (gotten it from the baby). Wife is thinking we get a full time nanny for the next 4 months to help the baby build antibodies. Have to fill out a form “bathroom waiver”, which is basically allowing teachers at the school to clean my child after a potty, including genital area. We recently sleep trained our 7 month son. He went from waking up multiple times during night and taking only 30 minute naps 3 times during day (most cases nursed to sleep or rocked to sleep or took a drive) to sleeping 12 hours at night without interruption and two 2 hour naps and one 45 minutes nap during day. We both love that he is getting enough sleep and well rested on one hand. On the other hand, we are now wondering if he is sleeping way too much.. contd…

Took my 2 year old daughter to the dentist and she found 4 cavities. We’ve been teaching her to brush her teeth before bed & after meals(unsuccessfully) so far.
She’s needs sdf treatment according to the dentist, any suggestions on how to move after the treatment as it leaves black coverage on the teeth. (She’s too young for crowns and what not)

First time Dad and my 15 month old keeps running up the stairs at my in-laws place and they keep encouraging it. Stairs are almost 10 inches high with nothing underneath and I’m worried that he might slip and fall in between the stairs.
