In other words, whenever you are promoted to a new grade (e.g., SA, Mgr, Director) you must start at the "1" level for that grade (e.g., S1, M1, D1, etc.,). --this is part of the reason why I'm pretty annoyed with the new cohort model.
@pwc5 I'm not sure about why is it about the cohort system that annoys you. It has worked for ages at strategy firms. @S& the cohorts are designed so that the 1 level above is always more money than the highest cohort of the previous level
Starting June 15th we will be posting
@OP it's only been considered as "tacky" since employers don't want their employees knowing their going rate in comparison to their co-workers, nothing wrong about it at all
SA NYC covered
To be clear: this isn't for bragging rights. Purely to figure out what the landscape looks like with this new system
Honey, there are adjustments within each cohort...
I'll lock down the A2 Chicago datapoint. Already know A1 is gonna look like 73k for my zone.
They didn't say in that presentation. Just "mba's and other select grad degrees".
Tacky as it is to compare salaries, I'm legit interested in seeing what this pans out to look like after being pay band based for so long.
I'm more interested in seeing the bumps from one cohort to the other, less so the actual bases.
Ultimately we all know jack about how the cohorts will work. In 2 weeks we will all be experts. 💅🏼
What grad degrees other than MBA will be included in the adjusted grids
PwC3 - I went from Associate to SA.. So definitely possible.
For example, M1 is 172 whereas SA2 is 152
My understanding was that the adjustments were specific to grad degrees and location. You know of any other adjustments within the cohort model?
Yes
I'm trying to go from EA to SA2. Thoughts on plausibility??
Lol @ pwc3
@pwc2: the snark is strong with you.
@pwc3: by ea do you mean second year associate?
P2 If you can skip cohorts why not ?
OP- Yeah 2nd year EA came in at that level through graduate program rated as a 1 last year and probably again this year
@pwc6: I meant tacky in that we've seen the Deloitte layoffs on the app all week, and I know several friends who got the axe from our firm, and now I'm posting about sharing salaries. Just don't want this to come across as rubbing anything in.
