I was not promoted to senior associate. I came in as an experienced hire and due to some timing issues with hire date and reviews, I didn’t demonstrate enough in time. I am generally well liked at my office. My goal is to transition to transaction advisory externally. How bad will not being promoted hurt me in applying for these positions once they open up? I have my cpa.

I’ve got an interview for a UI designer position on Tuesday and meeting with the senior developer first. What can I expect from this first round? It’s been so long since I’ve interviewed

I'm a senior in college. I just got invited to interview for the Strategy Analyst position at Deloitte in their GPS practice (I go to a school in DC), but I never filled out the application lol. How does federal compare to commercial in terms of pay, wlb, prestige, etc? I would appreciate any and all advice, as I am new to this. I have an offer right now with EY for PMO business consulting, but looking for other opportunities too.

Opinions on pre-hire assignments? I’m in the final stages of interviewing for a senior strategist job and they’re asking that I put together a robust presentation to refresh a program. They want me to think through messaging, channels, competitive, measurement, etc. I then have to present my strategy in an hour long meeting with the hiring manager and higher ups.

Is this normal? I’ve never been asked to complete something so comprehensive for an interview process.

I am about to interview at Google/FB for a senior engineer position. What interview prep should I do?

Looking for recommendations for job interview coaches or classes. I keep getting to the final or next to final round for mid to senior level Product Designer roles, but have yet to get to the job offer stage. I’ve been DIY and practicing using online resources. Currently a risk assurance senior at KPMG, with an upcoming interview for a job as an senior IT internal auditor in industry. How much should I expect to make in base salary + bonus in TAS/FDD as a second year Senior at the BIG4 in NYC? Currently interviewing.

When I interviewed, I literally said “EY is the place I want to retire at” (and I genuinely meant it). When I was staff, I thought I would quit after I make SM for a few years. Now as a Senior 3 everyday - “I hate my job. I won’t get promoted to Manager next year. I hate my life. When can I quit??”

Bristol Myers Squibb Senior Auditor - I am interested in applying but I think I’ve seen their ad for a senior auditor for maybe 5 months now. Is this a red flag? (Maybe high turnover?)

I love my job and love my team, but can't deal with OT anymore. My team is short staffed (almost no one left in the staff/senior level), and as a result, I work from 7AM to 2AM and have no work life balance. Should I start interviewing for a job in industry? Or should I discuss what I am going through and how I feel about it with my partner/coach(RL)? My team is aware that I am working long hours but they keep bringing new projects. Hubs is starting to interview for senior legal roles. Hasn’t had a haircut during covid, and it’s curly and fantastic. Looks awesome. Does he need to cut it to appear “professional?” (He was laid off in April, so we’re getting anxious)

What should I expect in a Deloitte technical interview for a Senior Consultant role?

I’m an audit senior right now, and am looking at other opportunities. One of the companies I’m most interested in is actually my client that I’m on year round. Does anyone have any experience interviewing at their client? I believe i’d have to be pulled off the team during the interview process, which seems like a huge headache... I also don’t want to burn bridges or put myself at risk for a lay-off if they know I’m looking. Anyone have experience with this? TIA!

Made it to final rounds of two well known NYC start up companies. A senior leader (chief revenue officer) of one of our business units has pitched a Chief of Staff role for me where I would help him run the business, manage his direct reports and perform strategic analysis.

If there's company you like and the only postings listed are either too senior or too junior is it worth applying still in hopes of getting considered for a more Jr role or negotiating up for a more Sr role?

Had a series of interviews with a number of people + a take home case (went very well). Had another call with hiring manager (good response). In the end they wanted me to meet with the very senior head of the function (boss’ boss) - quick 30 min meeting. Haven’t hear back in a week... what gives? :/ figured this would be a quick decision round

Would it make sense to wait for a promotion next year from Strategy Manager to Senior Manager before applying to Google with 12 YOE or Google doesn’t really bother about external titles? Want to consider L6/L7roles if possible but not sure if I should wait and if my aspirations are unrealistic.

I interviewed for a manager position and they asked me to consider a senior role instead. I have nearly 7 full years of experience in tax.

What type of exit opportunities do people usually leave for? I saw someone leave as a senior consultant and moved into a director role in industry. Is this a common transition?

I'm thinking ahead since I can see the consulting life getting old quick. I'll be doing another few years at the very least for the experience (and $), but curious to hear about how industry employers view healthcare consultants and how we match up with other folks in industry that are applying to the same roles.
