What video meeting software does your firm use? Do you like it? Zoom, Teams, G Meet, Webex, etc

Introverts... typically I hate networking and find small talk exhausting. Depending on who im talking to I feel awkward and fidgety. But I find that doing it via zoom has been easier for me and I feel like I come off more charismatic? Anyone else experience this?

Random question but can someone detect if you use a local screen recording tool to record a zoom call?

Using work laptop zoom to do a job interview. Yay or nay?

Two questions-
1. Is Business Casual (Suit but no tie) fine for BCG Round 1 Zoom interviews on a Friday?
2. The email from the recruiter said that there will be two 45 min ‘case study interviews’. Now online, there’s talks about the BCG potential test - I’m expecting just regular cases though (in London). Do I need to worry about the BCG potential test?

Agencies need to stop promoting their creative placement schemes, internships, and mentorship schemes for under-represented groups and young people as if that’s enough. It isn’t. Junior creatives are over-mentored and have attended countless Zoom portfolio crits, talks and more over the last year. They are eager to work yet nobody is hiring juniors.

Tbh, all these schemes just get people’s hopes up and kill them when they still can’t get a full time junior gig. Just give them jobs.

Any agency producers getting requests to find “podcast solutions or vendors”? Are there any out there? What are people looking to for help? It’s such an odd thing to budget. I could simply show up with a zoom recorder, we could spend money to build a suite, or we can go to a place. This is for more the technical side. But curious if others are getting this kind of request.

I had a tentative hearing on a matter. The matter was settled and we asked the court to waive a hearing and just sign the order based on the papers. The court neither let us know they were waiving it nor gave us the time / zoom for the hearing.

Should I assume it's not happening? The hearing was supposed to be on Friday. I need to know if I have to prepare.

Do I need to wear a tie for a zoom interview or is a suit jacket and dress shirt (and sweatpants) sufficient?

I recently “came out” at my ad agency and listed my pronouns as they/them on zoom and in my email signature. I’m not expecting perfection at all and I’ve posted in Teams with helpful articles, offering to chat if people have questions.

But still, 95% of the company refuses to even address me by my pronouns, remotely try, or ask anything.

The agency itself is led by older conservative men, but I guess I expected at least some effort from younger employees.

What should I do?

My firm (over 1,000 lawyers) just put a firm-wide “we need to talk” zoom call on all associates’ calendars for later today. No one knows what it’s about or will give any info. Not going to be a productive day.

In the times of Zoom therapy how do you deal with being physically in a different state from your therapist where they are not licensed to treat you? Is it ok to lie by omission? I feel like they would never know and I’d hate to stop seeing my therapist because of this.

Recently started working out of UG & moved to a new city for work. I have no friends and seems like the in-office activities are still long off despite vaccinations. It’s frustrating that people keep saying to just show up to zoom events, do coffee chats, etc. That doesn’t build relationships, let alone friendships, and it seems like a disconnect that older people think it is. Wondering if any new hires are feeling this or just me.

How often do you pull out of interviews when you don't mesh with a hiring manager? I had one join a zoom call the other day and literally just sit there. Super strange to say the least haha
