McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.

I'm cool w it. As long as work gets done I could care less.
Couldn’t not care less **
I like WFH generally. Business these days have been more about demand coming to us than us hunting so WFH has been less of an issue and a boon in disguise. I expect maybe in a few years if demand slows down we may have to be traveling more. Personally I don’t want to travel as much as we did. But I do see benefit of purpose led travel forming connections with your client and/or teams in a more thoughtful manner.
My teams generate deliverables faster now. It's now easier to get everybody together at 11pm for an "emergency"😂

I am very happy for the team to wfh. No reasons to go to an office and do zoom calls.
We have pretty much proven that real estate as we used it so far was a bad spend . I let my teams do whatever model they and their clients can live with - I am 100% cool with full time WFH if they can agree
MP, which firm are you managing?
Commercial real estate in professional services is now nothing more than the cost of poor communication. The need for, and use of, an office should count against engagement margin.

We had a partner meeting for my sub sector with an associated dinner, and so a bunch of people were in the office who otherwise wouldn’t normally be.
After an hour of walking around and shaking hands with people, I had invitations to go see 6 clients.
That just doesn’t happen by zoom.
KPMG is slowly moving towards mandatory back to office.
Seems like they care about making it appear real estate still has value so they have a chance to exit at some point. Not entirely sunk.
I have been to the office for literally 7 working days since joining in mid 2019. I shouldn’t have bought all that formal wear
