Set boundaries, only you can! Hang in there but I would ask for the time off.
You’re absolutely right. Had a very down moment and talked to a friend who told me to do just that. If no one is gonna think of my health and well being, I need to do it!
Yeah fuq that. I’m previous big 4 and worked a few 80 hours weeks myself and couldn’t fathom anyone even asking that of me. At the very least, I always received the weekend off before starting my next client. That is very un professional in my opinion of whoever is asking you to do that. Whether you plan on staying in big 4 or not setting boundaries early in your career will help you so much.
Right?! I thought everyone knew there was an unspoken rule to do that… I was blown away! It’s a new team I’m working with so I’m not sure what their vibe is but I’m not liking it so far
Honestly the job market is too hot to stay in place like that! Good old corporate America pays more and you work 40h a week! Leave and take care of yourself ❤️
I’m sorry. That sounds rough. The perils of a matrix reporting environment. It can feel like no one has your back. Take the time. And when you do, don’t worry about how others react. You can only be responsible for your own feelings. 🫂
Lol update in case y’all are curious. The manager is now having me splitting time starting on Monday… yes, even during filing. F this!!
Literally going through the exact same thing
