Anybody have creative brief templates/examples that they’re willing to share? I need to create a brand campaign brief for an interview and I want to look at a more diverse group of comps beyond my little grab bag.

Hi I am a college senior. I am applying for a “creative consultant” position at Lippincott. Does anyone know what the general salary is? Usually I have an idea, but no clue for this title. Thanks!

“Evidence suggests that teams that include a variety of perspectives and backgrounds will often produce more creative solutions and catch mistakes earlier. What background or experiences do you bring that will help broaden the perspective of our team?”

Applying for job that’s asks for 150 characters to say what makes me unique (and to be creative/catch their eye). Where do you go with this? Professional or personal focus? It’s basically 2 sentences.

An ad agency asked me come up with creative concepts for a campaign as a job interview writing test. They are willing to pay me but on a project basis rather than an hourly rate. I’m a junior writer, how much should I charge (I have no clue about freelance rates)?

I’ve applied to over 40 jobs since I was laid off in March. Not one click to my portfolio, per analytics. With a family of four, we are being spread thin. Not only is the income desperately needed, but my creative soul needs a release. I would be happy to do typical Art Director work but I’m “over qualified” for that and am never taken seriously when applying for work below CD/ACD. If anyone needs or know of any company needing freelance work, large or small—I’d really appreciate the lead. 🙏

Do creative leaders in the US hire people with international experience? I’ve had several interviews where I’ve ‘almost’ made it but the lack of reasons given to me for getting rejected makes me wonder if my ethinicity or the region of experience is an obstacle.

I have a foreign friend that is interviewing for a Creative Director role at a big Pharma Agency in NYC. Because he is from South America, I’m gonna Zoom call him to help him practice for the interviw (in English).
Since I’m a strategist, I’m not aware of what questions are asked for a Creative Director role at an interview. Can you folks help me listing the most important questions HR asks, so I can help him practice?

During an interview for my first internship, I was talking about the writing in one of their TV spots which I really admired. One of my interviewers cut me off to say they didn’t do that spot because that brand wasn’t their client. I had done my research and was 99.9% sure it was their ad, but wasn’t about to argue with the SVP of Creative in my first professional interview. As I left the interview, I saw that exact spot playing on their reel in the lobby.

What’re your thoughts on this?

Have an interview tomorrow, but it's for a client side creative / marketing department. Should I anticipate the interview questions to be vastly different to those that I'd usually receive in an agency interview?

When applying for a Creative job, is it acceptable to contact the CD directly in addition to completing the standard submission form? Or is this annoying for CDs to deal with?

Seeing 100+ applications for each role makes me think I need to explore other ways to get myself noticed.

Had an interview where the agency said they don't do "junior / mid / senior" levels in their creative department.

My CW and I are st that stage where that seniority is important for us and for our future progression. Is it one of those things that we fight for on the contract, or just sign anyway and just put "senior creative" on our LI title?

I just realized I’ve never done an interview with a creative director. Anyone have advice / a general idea of how it usually goes? They’ve already seen my book. Would it be a deeper conversation about my work? My life? My process? I want my mommy.

I was laid off last month but now in the final interview stage for two very different opportunities.

First opp is a digital agency and they asked if I’d consider a part-time contract gig with the “goal to hire” in 60 days, depending on the COVID impact. So no guarantee for a full-time offer. Second opp is a client side marketing role at a publicly traded company that has been somewhat recession-proof. Culture is very corporate and a bit conservative (not creative).

Anyone made the move from an Ad Agency to a Start-Up? I’m currently interviewing and it seems exciting but very different to what I’m used to. The interview process alone has been going on for four weeks. One hour zoom meetings at a time with different stakeholders. A world apart from the jokey, casual vibe of an Ad Agency Creative job interview where they’re much more interested in your portfolio.
