Thoughts on opening the United Milage cards and getting all those bonus miles? Or are there better cards out there? Have the csp , plat and csr also in NJ so most flights I take are with United.

I am starting a new job that will require a lot of travel. I currently have the chase freedom flex (downgraded from preferred 2.5 years ago) and Amex blue cash, never use the Amex. I am in between CSR or Amex Platinum, leaning towards CSR but I won’t be eligible for the 60k bonus points since I earned them when I had the preferred. Would CSR still be worth it, assuming my biggest spend is on food/groceries and I love to travel internationally (1-3 trips a year) or should I go for the Amex? TIA.

I have been in logistics for 5 years now since I was 18. I started out lumping trucks -> order processor -> CSR -> Amazon trainer/lead -> and I made a huge jump into the corporate world now as a Logistics Operations Associate for one of the biggest bottling companies. I have no degree and I feel like I was low balled heavily. Where do I go from here career wise? I can't afford school I believe in a year I can file Fafsa solo. What is my next role after this? What should be my niche? Cont.

Just got the Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card and want to get into traveling more. Any tips on gaining/redeeming points without having to completely change spending habits?

I just picked up the Chase Sapphire Preferred card and was interested in any credit card tips to best help with traveling? I haven’t traveled much before but I am trying to get more into it and would appreciate any input.

For those who have the Amex platinum, how often do you use it and what do you use it on? I am considering getting one but don’t think it earns points better/faster than other cards like the CSR

I have a CSR with an annual fee coming up. I used to travel a bit but now with two young kids, it’s maybe once or twice a year, and the AF is probably not worth it. But because the kids are young, it’s nice to have lounge access when we do go on trips. The only other perk we use is the dash pass (which I don’t mind paying separately). Any recs on a replacement card combo that would work for me? Since I don’t travel much, is cash back the better route?

Thinking of getting the CSR, any way to do better than the 60k sign up bonus without waiting for a promo to come around?

I want to get a joint credit card with my SO. She currently has the AMEX gold. I have chase sapphire reserve. We want to keep our own individually, but want a join one. Which should we do? Would love to open another reserve under both our names because of travel rewards but we would be paying like $1000 per year in fees for three cards. Any ideas?

Does anyone have recommendations for cards other than Marriott for hotel stays? Or what hotel lines you use for travel in general for loyalty rewards. I’ve been using my Chase Sapphire to build points through stays for work but thinking of getting a hotel-specific rewards membership.

Anybody have insight into car rentals? I may need to rent a large car in August, and I've very rarely rented a car. Visiting parents an hour outside of Philly. Getting a car in NYC, a car in Philly, or a car in the Suburbs are all possible. I could do 6 days, exactly a week, or 10 days, if any certain length hits a cost sweet spot.

I have CSR, so I think I get 10x points if I use points, but not sure if that's the best option.

In general, should someone anticipate being underpaid for their position when working outside of the tech industry?

I know some positions in federal or state government may pay well, but I'm speaking in generalities, not an exception.

ie: I worked as a CSR at Wells Fargo and got 49K where is at Coinbase my base was 69K plus stock and stipends.

What cards do you carry that provide airline, rental, and/or hotel status? Also, which would be best for small non-chain hotels. I’m looking at the United club infinite (AA’s cob-branded card offerings are not good), CSR, WF Autograph (for airbnb and non chains), and Amex plat. I notice many of these rental car companies I can status match with my existing hotel statuses. Would love to hear from everyone what their card lineup is to maximize travel points or cash back

Best card for boutique / small hotels (non-chains)? I’m thinking the CSR, I have and love the CFU. Let me know your experience with CSP or CSR!

Best credit cards for travel and air miles or cash back? I’ll be traveling a lot for work soon and I’m torn among AA Advantage Citi, Chase Sapphire, American Express platinum, or the ink business preferred card…would love to hear what’s worked for others!

Newbie here, what’s a good credit card for travel. Starting new job that requires a bit of travel and I’ll be expensing it / being reimbursed. I know I’ll eventually want to get Pre-check. From what I could found it looks like Amex Platinum, chase sapphire or platinum and or the capital one venture card would be my best option. Anyone have personal experience with these cards? Pros and cons

I work in food production. I work closely w/ accounts who order products 4 foodservice & grocery stores. I feel that customer service is not an appropriate job title for what we do. we communicate w/ our customers/accounts but we are more like account managers. We also deal with transportation issues. They won’t change our pay because we are CSR’s & we are compensated as such accord to industry standards. What is an another job title we could request that would compensate us 4 what we do??

Looking at getting AmEx Platinum or Capitol One Venture X. Leaning towards the Venture X as a $700 Annual fee seems steep. I want a card that I can use for travel, has great point value, good redemption, and great perks. Rn have the chase sapphire preferred and very underwhelmed by what it offers in terms of travel. I am a remote worker who travels 1- 2 per month. Would love to hear pros and cons of both.

How do you all use chase points for best value? I have CSR and usually ‘book travel thru Chase’ where I get 1.5x value. Is that the best bet? Usually buy flights

After you apply for the chase sapphire reserve card and are approved online, is there a code you can use to start using the card or do you have to wait for it to come in the mail?

I'm flying out for work in a week and need to buy the flights. I got approved for the card on Friday and want to know if I have an option to put these flights on that card?

I recently flew from EU to US through an EU connection.

The EU airline lost my bag for 12 days. I submitted a lost bag report when I landed with the US airline.

Bag is now back - any thoughts on how to maximize compensation claim for the delay? I also have chase sapphire reserve.

Does applying for a credit card impact your credit score if declined?

Currently have 712 FICO and have been building credit for 10 months with two basic CC’s, looking to get a chase sapphire or Amex gold. Open to other suggestions as well, ideally cards that have a bonus if you spend X amount in a few months.

Helpful if the card has major travel benefits but I have yet to start traveling for work and unsure when it will pick up so not necessarily a deal breaker

Chase Freedom Unlimited vs Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card?

I am starting for a company that lets you use your own card (and get reimbursed) I am in sales so going to lunch and dinner will be what I use the card for. I currently have a city double cash card since it was 2% on everything but now I want to lean into the dining. I know the Sapphire Preferred has a great early bonus but I never like annual fees for cards.. thoughts? Pros/Cons long term? I do travel AND LOVE southwest.
