Does anyone want to be my case study partner? Currently a mgt consultant looking to go into MBB. Just a beginner atm

I was supposed to have a final partner interview at PWC today and there was a no call no show from the partner then I fold up with an email to the recruiter and haven't heard anything yet, has anyone ever faced anything similar? Thanks

Applying to a Digital Marketing Strategy role at a major bank, but not sure what the growth opportunities are, compared to consulting, where you can (in theory) make partner. Anyone in this type of role that could provide insight please? TIA!

I had a lot of meetings/interviews with a service line and office I was thinking of transferring. The last time I had a call with a partner was two Fridays ago (10 days). And they told me they’ll discuss and let me know in the next week. I sent a follow up email after my meeting. But haven’t heard anything back. Is it a bad sign? Or should I try reaching out again?

I have a final with PwC Advisory tomorrow. Aside from what is published by PwC and adjacent PwC groups, do you have any recommendations on talking points to prepare? I know they are 2 behavioral interviews: 1 Director, 1 Partner. Any insight is appreciated.

I can’t help but tie my self worth to my title/comp. I started in consulting late in life because I wanted to experience it (late 30s) and realize my personality doesn’t fit with the partner track. Now I’m dreading the thought of applying elsewhere and in a way starting over again. Keep comparing myself to my peers and friends in the same age group and how behind I am. How do I stop?

I am a newly promoted manager (~5months), I'm interviewing for manager at another big 4 (homegrown, so need better comp haha). 1st round was behavioural with a Partner and SM, but final round is with two newly promoted SMs. This doesn't add up. Has anyone had a similar experience? Why would they have more junior people do the final round interview? Thanks in advance!

I have a job interview tomorrow with an employment litigation firm (under 10 attorneys). The two people interviewing me will be the office manager and an attorney (maybe partner? No info on that person on the website). I've never been interviewed by an office manager, so I'm thinking it's more of a screening session. Anyone have experience or advice on what that interview could look like?

fellow Desis', how do you deal with Parents back home. I would like to care for them but without their interfering in every little detail of my life. I am gay, so I am not their ideal kid, & sense their frustration/feelings of betrayal in every conversation. But I can't stop living my life.
They get upset:
• if i don't tell them about an interview - oh you've already decided
• if I tell them about moving to a different state to be with my partner - oh you've already decided & now informing us

Lat. firm requested 2 partner reference at current firm. Provided 3, but they were not the principal partner I worked with, who is unhappy to lose team (me and another assoc), since I’m afraid of retaliation (and said partner is also mired in HR issues currently). However, the partner was mentioned during the interview as someone I worked with, so I feel scared now that my lateral firm partners are wondering why I didn’t include. I’m tempted to send a follow up and include them, but unsure...

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some post-interview advice. I had an interview last week that went really well. I emailed a thank you to the partners who were in my interview along with writing samples per their request, to which the managing partner responded, “let’s touch base Monday.” I didn’t hear back yesterday and am wondering whether it’s appropriate for me to follow up and if so, how do I word it? Or do I continue to wait? I want to show interest but not come off too aggressive. Many TIA!

I was recently let go by a Big 4 and I interviewed at Mid-size. I didn’t tell them I was let go and was hired and now working here. Recently realized, the partner I work with and my ex-firm practice partners are good friends. Should I communicate to my ex-firm partner not to share this with my current firm partner when they meet??? Or am I thinking it too much?

One of my seniors is lateraling. The partner went to offload his work on me on Friday and used the opportunity to slightly diss the firm (don’t know why he is doing this/turnover at that firm is high etc.). I had a final interview with a partner and the recruiter wants to do a debriefing call. Im assuming it can be just feedback or another interview is needed? I don’t see it being a rejection via phone. It’s for a senior manager role at EY

Help: I had 2 interviews with a firm and I showed moderate interest in the position - I thought I was in a good position with my current firm and maybe I could negotiate a signing bonus. Last week a partner in my PG pulled a major d*** move on me and I now want to leave immediately.

Got my Partner interview at PwC within the advisory practice this Friday. Do y’all recommend tie or no tie?

Had 3 interviews today with a Tier2 firm. First two rounds were fantastic - 10/10 - with individuals one level below partner. Only one case (last round with a Partner) and I needed guidance from him despite it being a medium level difficulty. We didn’t hVe time to finish part 2 of the case (may not be a huge deal but idk). The rest of the conversation went fairly well - he grilled me and I was able to respond.

How bad does it look for me? If they’re desperate, I should be fine?

If the technical interviewer reschedules the interview, is that bad?
For context: The recruiter was really excited and wanted to schedule in the partner/director interviews within the same week, but the technical interview just got pushed to next week. Not sure if this means anything

Whenever I have an interview scheduled my manager or SM or Partner would schedule something last minute. And then I have to reply back to the recruiter saying I won't be able to make it and please reschedule.

I have a PM interview coming up and the interviewer is a Product Designer. I’ve never interviewed with a Designer before, so I’m looking for guidance on what kind of things could be asked and suggestions on what/how to prepare. I assume they want to understand how I partner with design team, how I make/help make decisions, but this is high level. Can anyone share more specifics?

My partner is still out of work from being laid off due to COVID and made it to a final round interview that he thought went well , and got a denial email this morning. I was so excited to finally not feel so much financial pressure as his unemployment is stalled, but I just feel terrible, like this will never end and start to impact our relationship because he can’t pull his weight with the bills. Plus, I have a presentation today and just feel so distracted — an awful awful morning.

I have an opportunity lined up to interview with a Risk Advisory Partner for a lateral move (and faster promotion to Senior) and it seems their internal employee culture is good on paper. But I'm wanting to see if others have IRL experience with them?

My main focuses that I'd like more info on are: Office/Team Culture, Client Management expectations, and Senior/Staff Support

Stuck and need advice. Had been gearing up for a 3 day arbitration. I've done 70% of the work and senior partner just started stepping in as the hearing got closer. Also have my final interview for a new job this week and was told I'll have the offer. Plan was to put in notice, 2nd chair the hearing then start new job. Today, arbitrator postponed the hearing but without setting a new date. Want the new job, but feel bad leaving partner to do arb at some unknown point in the future. Thoughts?

Interviewing at SM level at Big4 in Risk Advisory. Some say that going into the role without consulting experience or a solid network is career suicide.
Should I quit while I am ahead and withdraw prior to the partner interview?
