Prayer works if you believe in God & talk to a therapist ! That might help - also take some time off to focus on YOU
Pray!! I struggle through this in my First year and God took me through it!! 🙏
Try to use work as a means of escape. I have severe depression but when I come to work, all those thoughts and emotions clear and I focus on the data, the processes, and the technology. I keep my head down and work. I got to the point where I actually get antsy to go back to work during the weekend, but any relief helps.
I second KPMG 1. Meds and therapy have done wonders for some people. Unfortunately I’m not one of them as I’ve tried numerous pills and cocktails, but it might help you and take the edge off
therapy
Thank you everyone as well
Medication and therapy are all that keeps me going. You are not alone.
Thanks KPMG 1. I can’t help but feel completely alone because I have no one to talk to
If you’re in busy season, I would suggest making some appointments now for right after the deadline. You can plug our insurance into ZocDoc to find someone to talk to, and book right online. I found my psychiatrist (med management) and therapist that way.
Thanks everyone. Truly means a lot. I will check out ZocDoc.
therapy is what helps me
Try therapy and start with the 5 free sessions that KPMG pays for. I’ve found that therapy is helpful in the long run. You can always try medication as well to help you through the days
And also just try to make your mental health/therapy appointments a priority. I found that when I first started working I had a lot of trouble of sticking to a schedule with my therapist but now that I’m making it a priority to go consistently, it’s helped a lot
I have bipolar disorder. I have been hospitalized twice for suicide. I have had two rounds of ECT for six months each, and I am still here. I know something about depression. An EAP is not going to work. You need to find a long-term therapist. The best way is a recommendation from someone. If that is not possible, then Psychology Today online lists therapists in different areas. You may need medication, but find a therapist first. I have lived with this for most of my life. I’m not saying that you have to too. Most depressions end themselves after a period of time. But if yours goes on, you can feel better. You can feel like yourself again. If you need more help, I’m not sure how private messaging works on this app, but send me a note. You absolutely can feel better
Thank you so much Citigroup 1. You don’t know how much your response means.
These are awesome: do first 3 then cherry pick. https://michellechalfant.com/the-adult-chair-podcast/
