Have a third and final interview for a senior accountant position tomorrow with the director of tax in industry. I previously spoke to the director and CFO. Is this is a formality? What should I expect? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Asked during interviews about next steps and relocations timelines if successful, director told me to not think about them since I did not get the job yet... does that mean I failed the interview?

I had the first round of an interview 10 days ago and it went well but I haven't heard anything since then.

The interviewer said I'd be a good fit and told me she would pass me/my resume on to the director/partner for rounds 2 and 3 but I haven't heard anything back yet.

Should I reach out and email her? If so, what should I say?

I'm probably overthinking this, but I figured I would ask anyways--what should I swear to a video interview? The position is an HR Generalist position, and will include the hiring manager (director), an HR Manager, a HRBP, and the VP of HR. Other members of the HR may "pop in" as well, but I was told those would be informal meet and greets.

Then after a few weeks, I was notified that a director (not the hiring manager) wants to have a informational conversation with me. Does this happen often? Should you ever take yourself out of the running for a role because you no longer feel qualified? I applied for a job and 3 weeks later I get an email saying I was confirmed next week for an interview at x time with the director of x. Having had no communication with the company prior to this email, I was contemplating a response, until I received another email 30 minutes later saying they set the first email in error and weren't moving forward with my application.

How do I respond to this? Will asking the reason why they're not considering my app hurt my future chances at this company?

If I put a TVC in my book (as an art director), what are the general assumptions of my role in the project? Are art directors usually supposed to handle set design and stuff in addition to concepting it? Should I be specific in my book as to what parts I did or didn’t do or leave that to when people ask in interviews?

Do resumes even matter anymore at a certain position (director +) I feel like it’s all about the interview, presentation, actual experience and relationships. Who reads one piece of paper and makes a decision about a person?

Would you interview for a position you feel you’re under qualified for? I have been a senior consultant of strategy at Interbrand for about a year now. I have a total of 5 years experience working in branding/advertising. I received a recruiter InMail last week regarding a strategy director role at a smaller branding agency. The job seems interesting and challenging and I’m def intrigued by the opportunity and title bump but I feel like I am not ready to take on the director role yet. Continued.

What type of exit opportunities do people usually leave for? I saw someone leave as a senior consultant and moved into a director role in industry. Is this a common transition?

Interviewing for a Director role in industry. The next step is a “scripted conversation” that will be recorded and then sent to their external recruiting firm for assessment. Anyone have any experience with this? Wondering what to expect and how to best prepare. I guess if it’s based on character or judgement skills then there’s only so much you can do to prepare though

If all someone does is throw you into their firm's referral system, does it matter who?

For example, senior associate (friend) vs. director (stranger). Also, is there a higher chance if you get referred by someone in the practice you're applying for?

I have interviews with PwC and Deloitte. What are the upper levels at both companies... e.g. at Accenture it is Senior Mgr / Principal Director / MD.
