Graduating from part-time MBA in May, have been working as a product manager in tech for 2 years and prior to that 5 years in BI/data analytics. I’m at a new company now and I’m disliking PM more every day. I’m thinking about doing JIT recruiting for investment banking to get strategic finance jobs in tech in 1-2 years but we’re having a baby in August. Is it stupid to try to pull off a pivot like that? I value WLB and want to be able to take paternity leave when our daughter is born

My Manager told me that we should not interrupt clients when they are talking because the most valuable things they say is when they are talking for too long. Do you agree with this? I am wondering because there might be benefits in interrupt and facilitate the conversations towards where you want it to go.

Six months ago a financial conglomerate offered me a position. The pay and benefits were really good so I took it. Now, I’ve realised this company is dangerously toxic so I deeply regret leaving the firm.

Past week my former manager asked me if I would have any interest in coming back so I said yes. Then she said she would have some conversations to test if it’s alright to bring me back in.

It’s been a week since we talked. Is it okay to reach out and ask for any updates?

So I’m excited I have three pretty solid options 1. Being a trust tax manager at a bank ( I’ve done banking/trust world before)
2. Contract to hire at a private equity firm 3. Staff accountant role at a healthcare company. Thoughts on these options?

Anyone work at Strategy& in the healthcare sector? I have some follow up interviews for an SA/Manager role but haven’t heard much about the culture. Trying to figure out if it would be a good fit for me.

So, a month ago I was offered a data engineer position at a fintech firm. I was going to accept it. The interview process had taken over a month. Then, at the last minute, an old coworker/friend - who is a manager at FAANG now - randomly offered me a data engineer __contractor__ position at a FAANG. The rate was really good - more than the fintech company was offering as annual salary. Rate was 160/HR and fintech was 275K TC. The benefits are ok - it’s a W2 contractor. But I’m thinking of...

I currently work as an engineer for the utility industry and have been offered a position as a project manager in healthcare. The base pay is the same as what I’m currently getting. But I’d be losing out on a bonus I’d be getting soon, pension plan, 401k matching and I also would have to pay back money for tuition reimbursement. I’m really tired of my current job but I feel like the offer isn’t good from a financial perspective. Any tips or insight that could help? Should I try negotiating?

I had a final interview for a position and the recruiter called me to let me know all the feedback was positive but that the hiring manager wants to speak to me one more time and that they’re wrapping up interviews tomorrow. He also told me he’ll send me over their benefits package to look at in the meantime (and has sent that already). Am I supposed to think that I pretty much got the position and they’re just interviewing for contingency or does all this not mean anything?

Got about 6 years of experience working for a Blues health plan client in various engagements, mostly IT strategy related- clinical transformations, acquisition of a Medicaid contract etc. as a program manager. Have about $700K in various mutual funds that have just sat for a decade and about $500K in savings to invest. I don’t have much free time to research what to invest in and when. I don’t even know which funds to choose/which 401K option to choose (Roth vs Traditional) in my typical day-to-day.

-current comp is 100 base, roughly 120 TC with bonus (monthly based on utilization) and 401k/HSA match
-offer for 150 base and 12% bonus (based on clearing yearly utilization of 85%) and manager title
-current firm countered with 130 base and an increase in bonus accrual metrics

I was offered a SC role at 125k base. I have a competitive offer for 135k TC.
I told my recruiter that I have a competitive offer & can’t accept the D’s unless it’s 140k base given their benefits. Recruiter came back with 130k. This recruiter has lied to the hiring manager that I accepted the offer even before sending me the offer letter( called Hiring Manager) Process took 3 months.
My Q is - recruiters at D have leverage to raise the compensation and generate a new offer letter?

Hi guys - I saw a job posting in the Toronto area for a sales force process excellence manager which seemed interesting. My role right now is a project manager in the investment and pension industry, with a background in consulting, app an tech support and process automation. I’ve just completed a full implementation of workday and have other SaaS ERP experience. My academic experience is more MIS (business process/strategy/ERP) and hold a PMP, ITIL and CSM. Would this role be a possibility?

Potential incoming KPMG experienced hire looking to negotiate a comp. Nearing 14YOE with an MS. Currently at 220k base (4-6% annual bonus, 9% 401k match) at a company, and want to bring me on at the Senior Associate level (lol I know, I know). Gonna try to upgrade to a Manager level role if possible. Based on where I’m at, is KPMG going to even be close? I’m okay with a lateral move as well, since I’d like experience and branding also.

Contemplating move from EY to KPMG.
Would appreciate someone pointing out the benefits difference

Offer evaluation, advise appreciated: Recently IPO company, senior manager role.
Base: 170k
RSU: 200k (vested over 4 years)
YOE: 8.5 years experience (+MBA)
Location: Bay Area

No sign on bonus or 401k match, no/minimal annual increase or yearly bonus expected. Seems too low even for my current job. What’s a reasonable expectation? Don’t mind walking away if the expectation is not met.

Received a job offer for an industry senior job that would be a $20K pay bump plus nice bonus and really good benefits (a lot better then my current benefits) and much better work/life balance. However, I was pretty much guaranteed to be early promoted to manager this year (in August). I don’t really see myself staying until partner so I’m trying to weigh out the pros and cons to help me make a decision.
