I'm going to put braces at 25 this Tuesday. Any tips? Should I be worried about appearances after WFH?

I'm really struggling with focus & could use some coping tips, if anyone has some. I live alone & am hundreds of miles from my family. I've been in isolation for months (My firm is still doing 100% WFH). Everything feels so overwhelming and coping with being lonely and being sad is getting harder and harder. I'm coming up on a crazy Q4. I'm low on hours for the yr so I need to go all-in on work for the next 2 months, but I'm not sure how to make it happen. Any recommendations?

Any tips on improving patience at work? I tend to lose my temper pretty often. Most of the times it happens when either when my team's output is not as per expectations after one iteration or its a third party giving some sub-par output (even first time). Wfh has helped where I don't have to give an immediate reaction, I can take a pause and then give feedback. But it is very difficult to do that everytime and I tend to become very direct and clearly convey my disappointment.

Seasonal depression is slowly starting to creep in and I know it’s going to get worse after daylight savings. Any tips on how to combat this? Especially with limited human interaction due to WFH

Feel like I just hit a wall recently with just an overall lack of motivation. Tbh unsure if it’s WFH related or the actual job. Anyone have any tips for getting out of this funk?

So, what type of watch do you all have? Apple Watch, Fitbit, etc? I've been feeling the need to track my activity levels and wellness with WFH for a while now, so a watch seems like a good idea. I want to track my fitness, keep track of the time, and have it look nice/professional. Any recommendations?

Has anyone had issues with ergonomics while WFH? I feel like such an old person with an aching back and sore wrists, but don’t know what to do really. Has anyone’s company provided support for ergonomics specifically or shared resources to avoid issues? This feels like a massive workmen’s com issue waiting to happen

Does anyone have creative solutions to sharing WFH space with spouse? We have desks in what was once a formal dining area (no doors) - but we are both on calls a lot (at the same time, with no noise insulation) and the setup does not have ideal backgrounds for video conferencing. We want to be able to work ergonomically without always running to the bedroom to take a call. I know we’re not alone! Room dividers? Sound absorbing panels? Any other ideas? Bonus for inspiration pictures!

Has anyone done a fun virtual happy hour with their teams during WFH? (Wine tasting, cocktail making, painting, games, etc.). I’m looking for recommendations along those lines! Please mention if they went well/poorly, any feedback, and what Company your team used for the event. Thanks 😀

I want to go spend exyensed time in a different city. I don't have a car and am not 25 so renting a car will be quite expensive (from the research I've done) Any recommendations on where I can fly to for a month for WFH and be able to get around without a car? Anyone have tips for making their WFH setup less depressing? I’m lucky to have Colorado’s 300 days of sunshine but winter is around the corner and my setup relies on sunshine through the window to maintain a good mood. Looking for lighting tips, desktop accessories etc.

So I signed up to go somewhere more remote with a good friend of mine and her friends for a week so we can relax while WFH in a different environment. Now she can’t go and I’m starting to dread the trip since I barely know them. There are two of them and they are besties. Any tips for surviving this getaway? I have my extreme introvert moments when I travel in a group. They wouldn’t know how to deal with it and I will be beyond stressed trying to put up a good front.

LA people: wfh makes me not want to live in DTLA. It’s too loud and dirty and urban for me. I’ve also had the worst luck with neighbors even if my building is so called luxury. Bass hammering and loud parties on a neighboring balcony and weed coming into my place 24/7. Hi ladies! We started this bowl because a few of us recently took new positions in the midst of COVID and are struggling with WFH. Here’s my story, please share yours! Just moved to a new country and joined a big local firm as a junior. I am a chronic procrastinator and I think it’s because I have low self-confidence, esp. with my writing style. Accountability is key to my productivity, and unless I’m micromanaged, I struggle to self-discipline. Will be sharing resources and tips in next post!

Any tips for getting started on intermittent fasting? I think the 8/16 model should be relatively easy with my schedule as especially in wfh environment my family eats dinners relatively early, often done by 6. That would allow me to do a small breakfast at 10am, then eat lunch and dinner with wife and kids. I've also read it's great to exercise near the end of the 16 window, which I can do in the morning then get an hour or two of work in before 10.

Any good recommendations for plants in a 1br apartment? Have 1 big window that gets direct sunlight a few hours each day, but that’s it. Definitely need to liven up my little space now that I’m wfh all day.

I’ve had really bad ADHD for my whole life and this pandemic has made it worse. I’m lucky in that my meds work well enough that I never miss external deadlines, since my fear of failure reliably triggers my hyperfocus last-minute. But I have trouble starting new projects until late night night before it’s due to someone else. An office gave me structure, which helped, but WFH makes my time infinite to psychologically procrastinate. I work hard and do great work, but I can’t work smart. Any tips?

anyone have tips for brainstorming / thinking creatively while solo or working remote? Hey all! My SO and I (gay dudes) are looking to move to CO/UT for 3-4 this winter to be close to the mountains and ski every weekend (+ plan to take a few weeks off). We’ve been looking at Aspen Snowmass mostly. Aspen itself seems to be too expensive but we found some affordable places in Basalt and El Jebel. Any tips from the group? What’s the best mountain to be on if our budget is 3500-4000ish/month, need space to WFH, want to be within 30min from slopes and be able to live our gay life?

How do you think socialising and/or networking has evolved during Covid times? Starting out in this industry at the moment and I feel as if WFH has made it harder to meet new people and talk with folks beyond the team. Any tips? Or maybe this could be considered as overthinking (aka things will fall into place etc.)

Started new job, new city, new jurisdiction when COVID-19 hit. Recently reached out to a few partners about the toll WFH has taken on progress and mental health (because 6 months at a new job in quarantine has been shit and no end in sight). I was basically told to get over it because I’m “better than that.” This is normal, yes? Must be nice to have the resources to do your job by the beach or in a huge house with all your essentials while Associates are in apartments “getting over it.”

Any recommendations for a reasonably priced good quality, simple wood desk? Nothing large and no need for a lot of drawers. Just need a 50-60” sized desk for WFH. Where should I look online besides wayfair & overstock? Thank you in advance!
