Just got official Vitamin D test results back and am incredibly deficient. Anyone else notice positive change once levels were normal again?

Are you indian? I’m Indian and our tests are always severely deficient.

Pretty common in everyone nowadays apparently

I had a pretty significant deficiency a few years ago and notice a change in mood after three weeks of ‘super dosing’. I’ve been taking supplements since then, and can tell when I’m near deficient again if I stop taking the daily supplement because of low mood. It’s now a daily habit to take the supplement.

I was also severely deficient. Been taking supplements for years and don't really notice a difference. But it's such a gradual change over time to build up levels, it's kind of hard to remember how I felt the year prior. Particularly when so much else changed (job, relationship, iron levels, diet, etc).

My biggest issue was fatigue, which I still have.

But I'm aligned with the research and do think proper Vitamin D levels are very important. I just try to spend more time outside (even if it's indirect sunlight) because I generally hate taking supplements and think natural is always better.

Yes. I was severely deficient several years ago, and have since been put on close to 1000mg a day, which has helped quite a bit. Fatigue/exhaustion and significant hair loss are the two items that I notice most; when I take the vitamin d as prescribed, it gets noticeably better.

Yes. I wasn’t as tired anymore.

Omg YES. I was so fatigued and depressed when I got tested. I was put on 100,000 a month for 3 months and I felt like I was born again a few days after the first dose. Incredible energized, slept much better and had no issue getting up in the morning. Helped with hair loss too. 2 months after the last dose I’m back to square zero though. I definitely feel like not all supplements are created equal and 1000 a day or 10,000 a week don’t make much of a difference but if I spend a few hours outside a few days in a row I feel better.

Men, how do you make yourself feel sexy and successful?

I feel like, I've dependend on my partners to validate me in those ways. But that makes me insecure & dependent on them. They loved me but idk if they "wanted/desired" me.

To feel sexy, I'm working on losing weight and then building muscle, but that'll take time and fade away with age anyway.

To feel successful, I mean... I have an OK career and savings, but I just don't identify either as success.

Maybe, I just want to feel desired.

Went for a pre-employment drug test yesterday. They never asked me if I was on any medications. I had to ask them and was told "oh yeah, just put any you may think make a difference in this text box." I put Xanax, Flexeril, and gabapentin. All of which are prescribed and used as directed. Now I'm terrified that I should have put ALL my meds, to including my psych meds. I've been sober over 12 years and never touched drugs (just booze) but I'm having a full blown panic attack.

I think I’m doing great, but that depends on the day and who I work with (no other writers by the way).

This is super weird but I feel like I can’t relate easily to people. Hear me out - I moved and lived in different continents, countries every 5 years or so until now… I feel like I’m an outlier and my life is super different from anyone else’s. I have some friends I’ve met at each stage of my life, but it’s been temporary. I feel like I’m always going in a different direction than others. It makes it difficult to have a stable life and close friends..

After you moved in-house, how did you get more comfortable reviewing contracts or counseling on issues you weren’t super familiar with? I’ve been trying to find CLEs to get up to speed, but I’m wondering if this is generally something that gets more comfortable with time…

I’ve only experienced bad BO when I’m stress sweating (presentations, put on the spot, etc.) or on my period. Even if I’m sweating while exercising, I’ve never smelled.

However, more recently I’ve been noticing it’s all the time. I haven’t changed my diet, my job or anything life changing to affect my hormones/health.
