Hey!
I just got a job as an Onboarding Lead (their 1st onboarder) at a small start up.
My job will be onboarding/assisting new clients in our platform. I’ve had 6 yrs of tech support and customer success management experience, but as a 100% onboarding role I am looking for resources on how to build/develop an Onboarding program and team.
I know it’s a vague ask, but any websites, books, creators or accounts that would be helpful to get my creative juices flowing would be so appreciated. Thx!

What are effective ways to get in the good books of partners/senior practice leadership as a lower ranking employee?

If anyone has read “Who moved my cheese?”, doesn’t that seem like a great book to read right now for everyone especially current leaders/partners?

What does it mean if there’s a NEP at the firm who’s been there for a long time (20+ years), but never got promoted to EP? Never held leadership roles too. Does it usually mean EPs does not like the NEP enough to get promoted?

The NEP has a book of business, though no idea how much it brings in.

What should I do with my decades of annuals? D&AD, One Show, CA, Archive. Roughly 1965-2012. Also a specialized collection of books Bernbach, Burnett, Della Femina, Ogilvy, Robinson, Fallon, Crispin, AMV, Leagas. Strategy, client service, great campaigns, building an agency. I wanted to leave to my college (no advertising program). When I was in portfolio school, I bought used annuals instead of groceries. I was obsessed with The Work and this business. I need space for leadership, UX, coding.

So I need to find a L1A visa appointment - can I book L1A appointment outside India? In India, the lead time for appointment is huge.

Hi friends! I’m looking for resources to help me be successful in a “Functional Lead” role.

The role is in FinTech
I’m responsible for strategy, comms and key partnerships for a bank product. It reports through Customer Experience but touches product, Ops. marketing. It’s basically a Project Manager role but more nuanced.

Thoughts on calendar being double booked? What are the etiquettes to be followed. Often people double book and it feels like “ my meeting is more important that whatever you have booked time for in yours”. If both meetings are same urgency/importance - what’s the best approach ? What are the expectations of leadership - to throw everything away and jump on to calls based on seniority ?

I think my boss is an utter and complete noob, he has no technical background and only works for an hour , 30 min in morning when he tells everyone what to do and 30 min at night when he takes notes and sends to the team lead.
I need to be in his good books but often lose my temper and cut him off, how can I be more polite to him so that he doesn’t spoil my review ?

I'm speaking about life, in a broad sense, which also include work life, but it is not limited to that.

Does anyone have any good book recommendations for developing Christian leadership skills in the workplace? I’m trying to connect my Christian mission with what I do on a daily basis and want to understand how to lead my team members in a way consistent with how God expects leaders to be (in action and thought). Apologies if this has already been asked before (I don’t know how to “search” a bowl).

Anyone have any professional development/leadership books they’d recommend? Doesn’t have to be lawyer or in-house related specifically, just something you found helpful. I just finished Deep Work and found some aspects helpful, but others not applicable to in-house counsel life.

Why do people on here insist on chasing great “leaders” and not brands you enjoy? Most ECDs and VPs suck anyhow and don’t offer anything that I can’t learn from experience. Why would I want my book filled with work/brands that don’t represent the kind of brands I want to work on or enjoy?

My organization has had some executive leadership changes & drastic HR changes in the last 2 years. This was done strategically due to rapid growth and a 30% increase in employees in less than a year. My team & executive leadership has identified significant issues around our employees having lost trust in their supervisors and this is impacting the overall culture. We are focusing on supervisor development & are looking for a book or course to help supervisors gain the trust back. Suggestions?

I’ve created a strong network with Senior Lvl Execs @ my current company, and work on high level task forces to develop enterprise biz. I’m ready to move beyond the AE Role, but not into traditional sales leadership. I’ve also been interviewing b/c our systems are a mess currently. On the verge of getting offers higher than my current pay, I’d be starting from 0 with building reputation, book of biz, etc. My exec mentor suggested I pitch new roles & $$ and she’ll endorse. Interviewed with EJ, RJ, and Stifel as a new advisor. which to pick? EJ offering way more base up front with small goodknight to start. RJ’s fancy AMP training program is just slap a yellow pages down and start dialing with little to no practice building training. Stifel seems similar to RJ, with less hidden customer fees, more flexibility on customizing your fee schedule per customer, and there is a possibility of the lead FA in the office retiring out soon with his 120m book.

Can you become a good leader or do you have to “be born with it”? I’m smart and really good at accounting but I don’t feel like I lead my team of 9 well (I’m in industry now). Wondering if there are books or podcasts I can read/listen to in order to upskill my leadership skills?
