I just had my 90 day review and it’s wasn’t great but it wasn’t terrible. I got a meeting invite in my books with my direct manager and director called HOLD - placeholder time for Friday around 3:00. Does this mean I’m getting let go?

Referrals for rookies:
After a few management positions in the industry, I'm starting a Msc Business Administration in September and I'm lining myself up for a transition in consulting.
Although I have a question regarding referrals.
In my book a referral is someone who can actually recommend you because they know who you are, how you perform etc. Yet, I see people here asking for referrals from strangers and strangers offering referrals. Does that even work??

Books to read as a newish manager? I struggle with feeling guilty directing people to do things when they seem busy and expressing disappointment

Any good books/reads on stress management? I hate how my body produces stressful chemicals/responses on something as meaningless (to me) as work but I can't help but feel stressed all the time.

Sort of like I don't care about profits/shareholder value/the project itself but feel stressed to have to produce a certain quality of work based on people's/the job's expectations

Actually I got on offer from wipro(x+.5 charles wab pune) Capgemini(x+.5 hsbc hyd )hcl(x+1 but Gurgaon rbs client ) ust ( vmware client Hyderabad) and mindteee (x+.5 client Salesforce) but my manager(Accenture) had told me am in good books i will gwt promotion in coming quarter

I have a decent book. TV. Clever lines. Some press recognition. No major awards. (My agency hasn’t won a creative award in 10 plus years).

My favorite ideas die before clients, with clients, or during pitches. In my opinion, they are more conceptual, insightful, and representative of the irreverent work I want to make. Common problem.

Account ppl - hello. My role has recently become very project management and account focused. This has always been someone else's job. My role just requires many hats. I keep making small faux pas like emailing clients late (once) without considering what this looks like. There are better ways to learn than the hard way.

Has anyone here worked on a tobacco account? What’s a good book on product management? Are there any that have inspired you?

I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.

Is that a better value substitute for business school?

How to be a better people manager? Any good resources / books I should look at?

I'm looking to pivot from consulting into tech. I've gotten lots of interesting from tech companies on the ops side but am much more interested in product management.

Any advice on books or courses to help make the transition? I'm struggling to land PM interviews at companies that aren't tiny startups :(

I had someone (26 year old) apply for a non-advisor role on my wirehouse team who is currently an advisor at a bank channel. I don't think he is a good fit for the non-advisor role (wealth management associate) because he eventually wants to be an advisor again. Any reason not to explore him trying to move his book ($300k rev) to my team and see if he can make it as an advisor? I won't guarantee him completion of the FAA program but will mentor. Gotta earn equity partner in my opinion. Thoughts?
