Live in a garden style townhome community; there’s a family in the neighborhood that is constantly out on the communal lawn, kids running up & down sidewalks and screaming every day after school — I WFH and it’s driving me nuts 😅 any tips on noisy neighbors while WFH?

I’m 23 years old & live at home. I’m grateful that my parents support me under their roof which is a huge financial relief. The only con is their nonstop arguing and toxic marriage which impact my every day life. I’m woken out of my sleep by their yelling. I have to act as a meditator/ therapist/ counselor almost every week. I’m constantly stressed while wfh on top of that. I’ve suggest therapy to them but that doesn’t seem to be working. I also feel bad thinking about leaving. Tips? Thoughts?

I joined EY as a Manager 2 months ago and new to consulting. Leading a project in a new area with 2-3 streams, with no seasoned folks in team. Within weeks they started asking me to own other initiatives saying only project work is not enough. I am still learning about EY, consulting, and work streams in my project while virtually WFH. Not to mention multiple calls/meetings, trainings and other initial tasks.

Not sure if this is the general scenario in consulting/EY. Any tips would be helpful.

Will big4 or big accounting firms give me a chance now that I have CPA and MS in tax? I have just recently started my career in PA. 2 years at tax in a small firm in CO, and 3rd year now working at even much smaller firm in KS. I am frustrated because they don’t a proper training and resources to help me succeed, e.g. my boss would not get me log in to tax research tool. I am using google ;-(. I was told I could work from home, came to find out only 50% true - server is a cable at work :((.

Any tips for work from home, where I feel like I’m constantly trying to focus on work/“working”, but I get nothing done. I know I was suffering from burnout at my last job, and I thought the feeling would go away with this new one as the workload is lesser.

Does anyone have tips for WFH? I've been doing it for a year and can't stand it. I have plenty of friends outside of work but I really do miss grabbing beers after work, small talk, etc. Made three really good friends at my first job. Asking because I received a job offer with a significant raise. However, it's completely remote with no office in my city. Heyy does anyone have any tips for an entry level media planner? I graduated last year and landed a FT offer at an agency. I’ve been working from home for almost a month now and honestly it has its pros and cons. Not only is it harder getting to know your team, but there haven’t been much guidance from my manager and the lingo takes some time to get use to. I struggle to focus and block out distractions when WFH. Despite side conversations, etc in the office I feel like I always get more work done and am more productive. Any tips on how to get rid of distractions while WFH? Currently 3-4 days in office, 2-3 days WFH

I have been recently teamed up with a copywriter partner, been two months of difficulty working with my new partner - most times he would disappear for half of the day (we are WFH) or work is delayed. I've escalated this to my manager and tried to figure out how we can best help him. It got worse, my manager finally spoke to HR to escalate it.

We were told he has clinical depression but HR did not offer any plan on how to help him or the team.

Any tips on how to navigate this?

1. Recently joined a company (March 2nd, 2022), can I apply for maternity leave towards May end, as I will be delivering then?

2. I do not wish to take a long maternity leave as I just joined the organisation, so instead I want to request for wfh for 5-6 months and I'll take the leave until I physically recover (3-4 weeks). Is this a reasonable request?

My boomer mother is retired HR exec. Whenever I ask for recommendations on address situations at work she recommends I get over it because I work from home. My new manager has boundary issues and talking it over with my boomer, I mean mother, I was told “who gets to do laundry at lunchtime?” Mmmkay, just because I had to buy the desk I sit at doesn’t mean I don’t work. 🤬 Burn my childhood home down or put her in a home?

I’m new to the consulting world coming from tech as direct admit PPMD. Female, mostly work from home, although I plan to go into the office 1-2x per week plus coffee/drink networking with colleagues and clients. Tech is casual and I typically wear jeans with a nice top, sometimes blazer, and boots/heels. Based on what I’ve seen in Fishbowl (taking this all with a grain of salt) I may need to step it up. I really want to work in Tech SaaS Sales. What are tips to further improve my chances in SaaS, solutions/sale engineer?

Looking to buy a house in Atlanta. Interested in Muslim dominant area with mosque nearby, so I can send my kid for Arabic classes in the weekend or after school . I work from home so commute is not a concern and kid is in kindergarten so area with good elementary school is a requirement too. Any recommendations for the area?

Hi all! I work from home and sit most of the day in a chair that’s too big for me and not too comfortable - first question is has anyone w a standing desk found it useful and actually used it? I used to have one at work and hardly ever stood.

I just got a job offer for $10k higher than my base salary for a job that’s 100% remote. That being said, it’s based in CA and I live in Ohio, so there would be an adjustment to working PST. I am pumped about the base salary, but worried about the cost of medical benefits, losing tuition reimbursement and PTO is only 2 weeks. Any tips to negotiate those additional benefits? The WFH is a huge perk but also a bit scary as I’ve been in person during the whole pandemic. Any advice/thoughts?

I worked as a pastry chef for 5 years then I left my last kitchen job just before COVID. Ended up in a work from home administrative director position where I have gained a lot of experience.

I miss the restaurant/hospitality industry but don’t want to go back to working an unbalanced lifestyle in the kitchen. I’m still very passionate about food but don’t know where to go from here. I’ve considered restaurant consulting but still feel stuck on branching out. Thoughts? Recommendations?
