Has anyone gotten laid off from one big4 and gone to another big4 and stayed there for several years to manager, senior manager position?

Any tips for dealing with manager who micromanaged? Ideally, tips that don't get me fired

PwC lay-off thread. Group-whole number of layoffs by level + percentage. Advisory FS Risk & Reg - 3 in Feb ( 1 manager, 1 Sa,1 ea) 8 now (2 managers, 6 Sa). Around 10-15% of staff.

So, I just fired my first employee as a manager and I'm heartbroken. He was a great, great person but after 6 months on a PIP he just wasn't cutting it skills-wise. I know he was the provider of the household and his wife didn't have a job since she was raising three young ones. Needless to say, I had to take off because I felt terrible, sick to my stomach. I am in need of some serious advice. I have been continuously harassed, ridiculed and spoken down to by a coworker who’s now even “threatened” to get me fired etc. We do not have an HR department and the only manager I can go to is also mistreated and not taken seriously. I’m being shadowed this Friday by my manager due to my performance… my managers keep forgetting to put me in product training classes and how to navigate system classes and I’ve brought it to their attention, but they keep forgetting about me. I personally feel that I am more of a slower worker than my other peers at WIPFLI. I take my time when I work through my assignments. Recently I have had a conversation from a Partner and separate conversation with a Sr. Manager who is my performance coach. They both say it takes what it takes to complete a job. I'm feeling a lot of anger towards my manager (now he's acting normal but there were moments where he was condescending/dismissive/mocked my and others work/arrogant/said stuff was "wrong" constantly/belittling the difficulty of tasks etc. in the past project).
Maybe it is "standard chewing out" but it bothered me a lot. So much that I find myself still getting all fired up inside thinking about it...
